Peterborough and West Brom keen to get cup replay done and dusted

FA Cup & League Cup Tips

PETERBOROUGH UNITED v WEST BROM

Wednesday 10th February 2016 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Football – England – FA Cup

Peterborough United earned a replay in the FA Cup following a creditable 2-2 draw away at The Hawthorns and they may well fancy their chances of pulling off an upset at London Road against their more illustrious Premier League opponents tonight.

Peterborough took all three points in the following match away at Chesterfield in a 1-0 win in League One, so they’ll head into tonight’s cup replay in good spirits with nothing to lose and a good record under their belts on home turf.

The Posh have lost just once in their last nine at London Road and that was a 1-0 loss to top of the league Burton Albion, but with strikers Maddison and Coulibaly up front, the hosts could cause a few problems here this evening.

Onto West Brom, and they’ll probably be kicking themselves that they didn’t finish off League One outfit Peterborough United on the first time of asking at The Hawthorns as extra games at this point of the season tends to hinder sides in the top flight, especially West Brom as they have one eye on avoiding the bottom three in the Premier League.

A 1-1 draw at home with Swansea City and the weekend defeat away at Newcastle United will have done little to lift their confidence, and I daresay they’ll be looking to kill this tie off tonight without the need to go into extra-time.

The Baggies possess a useful attacking trio of Berahino, Rondon and Anichebe though, so they may well also trouble the scorers at London Road.
