Plymouth to edge west-country derby

League One/Two Tips

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE v EXETER CITY

Saturday 21st November 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

My next pick features the west country derby between Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City on the south-west riviera, with hosts Plymouth chasing a fourth consecutive League Two win which could extend their lead at the top of the division to eight points.

Second placed Oxford United travel to bottom club Dagenham & Redbridge, so The Pilgrims will be keen to get the upper hand over their close rivals Exeter City today, and having previously beaten Luton Town, Morecambe and York City, the hosts will be in confident mood.

Plymouth Argyle have in fact won seven of their last eight with the only blot on their copy-book being a 1-0 away defeat at promotion rivals Oxford United, but with a strong home record of  6-1-1  14/6 at Home Park, Plymouth have won their last four on the trot on home turf.

Exeter City currently sit just below the mid-table mark in League Two which has been largely thanks to a solid home record at their St James’ Park ground where they’ve lost just once so far this season.

However, Exeter have won just once in their last seven matches overall, while their form on the road has been less convincing as they’ve recently suffered back-to-back defeats at Carlisle United and Barnet, the latter currently sittin in 18th place.

Exeter’s away record stands at a below-par  2-1-5  8/15 and they’ve registered just one win from their last six on their travels which was a surprising 2-1 win at Portsmouth back in the end of September.

Despite this being a local derby, I believe Plymouth Argyle possess the necessary firepower to take all three points with the likes of Reuben Reid and Jake Jervis spearheading their attack.

Pick: Plymouth Argyle straight win @ 1.80 Ladbrokes
