Under-valued Port Vale a good bet against Coventry

League One/Two Tips

PORT VALE v COVENTRY CITY

Saturday 1st October 2016 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – League One Betting Tips

I don’t know why the bookies continue to over-price Port Vale in League One, but as long as they continue to do so, I’ll continue backing The Valiants, particularly at Vale Park where they are again for Saturday’s clash against bottom club Coventry City.

Port Vale registered a fifth consecutive League One win at home against Millwall in a 3-1 victory during the week, and I cannot see any reason why they can’t continue their excellent home form against a seemingly down-and-out Coventry City side this afternoon.

Vale have racked up wins against Southend United, Rochdale, Scunthorpe United, Gillingham and made easy work of Millwall who I’m expecting to challenge for at least a play-off place this season in League One. Port Vale’s home record stands at  5-0-0  11/3.

Visitors Coventry City are already in danger of dropping down to the English fourth tier for the first time in their footballing history as they sit rock-bottom of League One and four points adrift of AFC Wimbledon and the safety spot of 20th place.

Coventry are still seeking their first league win of the season under manager Tony Mowbray and you can’t help but think another defeat at Port Vale today could see him move closer to the chopping block and indeed could lose his job by 4.45pm this afternoon.

The Sky Blues have picked up just one point away from home so far from a possible 15 points on offer, and that was courtesy of a 1-1 draw at fellow out-of-sorts club Millwall, but four defeats at the hands of Swindon Town, Bradford City, Fleetwood Town and Gillingham are bad signs and worse could follow at Port Vale today.
