Reading recently ended a run of four league matches without a win last weekend when they registered a 1-0 win away at struggling Rotherham United which maintained The Royals’ eighth place position in the Championship.
They return to their Madejski Stadium on Saturday afternoon where they’ll welcome bottom half club Nottingham Forest with the hosts looking for all three points that could lift them up into the play-off positions. And with a home record that stands at 3-3-1 8/6, Reading look a reasonable bet for the points here today.
Reading recently lost their unbeaten tag in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa, but they had previously beaten Preston North End, Ipswich Town and Huddersfield Town so they’ll fancy their chances in this one.
Onto Nottingham Forest, and the visitors have slumped to 19th place in the Championship following three defeats from their last four matches under Frenchman Philippe Montanier, and another defeat at the Madejski today could well seal his fate as the Tricky Trees have been anything but in recent weeks.
Defeats to Bristol City, Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City have contributed to Forest’s current poor league position, while their away record stands at an equally poor 0-2-5 7/14 having lost their last three on the road on the trot.
Nottingham Forest have also managed to keep just one clean sheet from their last 15 away matches, and this could be a telling statistic in this encounter against Reading here this afternoon.
