Solid Reading too good for floundering Wolves

READING v WOLVES

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Reading’s play-off ambitions have received a setback in recent weeks as they’ve suffered back-to-back defeats to Huddersfield Town and Brighton respectively, but they now return to their Madejski Stadium where the Royals will be looking to take advantage of a floundering Wolves outfit.

The recent defeats were both inflicted upon them away from home against sides that possess fantastic home records in the Championship, but Reading also have a good record on home turf with stats of  11-4-2  26/13 and the arrival of manager and former Manchester United defender, Jaap Stam, has certainly had a positive influence in Reading’s defensive unit.

Reading have been a hard team to beat at home this season, and they head into this clash having won three of their last four with wins over Fulham, Cardiff City and Brentford. Look out for strikers McCleary and Kermorgant (8 goals apiece) up front.

Visitors Wolves have seen their season go from bad to worse in recent times as they’ve suffered four defeats on the trot with losses incurred against Burton Albion, Newcastle United, Wigan Athletic and most hurtful of all, a west midlands derby loss to Birmingham City at Molineux.

This poor run of results has seen Wolves drop dangerously close to the relegation zone and they find themselves just two league places and two points above the bottom three ahead of this weekend’s action in the Championship.

That said, Wolves have actually picked up more points on their travels than at home so far this season, and recent wins at Nottingham Forest and Barnsley may still give them hope of survival this term.

But Reading appear to be the better organised side as well as possessing greater confidence, so I’ll back the home side with the attractively priced round ball handicap.
