Sunday evening brings us further La Liga action with Real Sociedad taking on bottom club Cordoba with the hosts chasing a fourth league win in five matches as they look to continue their improved form.
Recent wins against Sevilla, Espanyol and Getafe have lifted David Moyes’ side up into the top half of the Primera Division, and with the visit of bottom club Cordoba tonight, they’ll certainly have their eyes on claiming all three points here.
Real Sociedad’s overall home form has been reasonable which stands at 7-3-4 21/15 having won three of their last four on home turf and the recent win over Sevilla will have given them a welcome boost.
Visitors Cordoba are currently on a terrible run of form having lost their last eight La Liga matches on the trot with Segunda Division football beckoning next season for the strugglers. They’re currently seven points adrift of Deportivo La Coruna and safety, but looking at their current form, it’s very hard to see them making sudden improvements to climb out of the relegation zone.
Cordoba’s away record stands at 2-3-8 8/25 and they’ve lost their last four on the trot on their travels with defeats at Celta Vigo, Sevilla, Espanyol and Malaga (all to nil I might add too), and further problems await at Real Sociedad tonight I daresay as the rot has well and truly set in.
In short, Moyes’ side should record a comfortable win here, so I’ll back the hosts for a 1-0 winning scoreline to lift them further up the league table.
