It’s back to domestic league football for my next pick as Rosenborg play host to Haugesund in the Norwegian Tippeligaen at their Lerkendal Stadion on Saturday afternoon with the hosts looking to extend their lead at the top of the division.
Rosenborg currently hold a four-point cushion at the top of the Tippeligaen ahead of second placed Odd, and having maintained their impressive 100% record on home turf so fra this season, the hosts look set to take the points on Saturday afternoon.
Rosenborg’s overall home record stands at 8-0-0 22/5 and confidence will be high following their Champions League 5-4 aggregate win over Norrkoping despite losing the second leg 3-2 away during the week.
Visitors Haugesund have put together a three-match unbeaten run going into Saturday afternoon’s encounter with Rosenborg with recent wins over Start and Viking along with a point earned in a 2-2 draw away at Tromso.
However, both of these wins were registered at their Haugesund Stadion, while their away form has been very hit-and-miss as their away record of 3-1-4 10/12 indicates; all three away wins to date have been against bottom half opposition (Bodo/Glimt, Sarpsborg and Valerenga), while their record away at top half opposition reads a more modest 2-0-3 7/9.
