It’s a quick return to the Portuguese second tier next as I take a look at second placed Santa Clara’s chances when they take on second from bottom outfit Academico at their Estádio de São Miguel in this evening’s clash.

Recent defeats to Benfica B, Desportivo Aves and Sporting B along with draws against Sporting Braga B and Freamunde have been simply not enough to lift them out of their current relegation zone spot, and they face a difficult trip to Santa Clara this evening.
Their task is made that much harder as they’ve failed to win on the road so far this term with an overall away record of 0-2-3 4/7 under their belts, and they’ve actually now gone a staggering 18 away matches without a win in this division!
