Football – World – Asia Section World Cup Qualifier Betting Tips

Saudi Arabia sit top of Group B in the Asian section of the World Cup qualifiers on goal difference ahead of second placed Japan prior to this afternoon’s clash against struggling Iraq at their King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia registered a relatively comfortable 3-0 victory away at Thailand last week, and although they still remain unbeaten on home soil so far throughout this World Cup qualifying campaign, they’ll nevertheless need to keep their momentum going if they’re to clinch an automatic qualifying spot with Australia just three points behind ahead of today’s round of matches.

The Sauds have been solid at home so far though having registered wins over Thailand and United Arab Emirates with 1-0 and 3-0 wins, along with sharing a point with Australia in a 2-2 draw. Indeed, Saudi Arabia are unbeaten in their last nine at home in World Cup qualifiers.

Visitors Iraq currently occupy fifth place in this six-team Group B, three points ahead of bottom nation Thailand but six points adrift of third placed Australia who hold the play-off position at the moment.

Iraq held Australia to a 1-1 draw at their Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad last week which was considered a good result, but their away form and results have let them down during this World Cup qualifying campaign as they’ve fallen to three straight defeats so far.

Iraq possess a poor away record of  0-0-3  1/6 having suffered defeats at Australia, Japan and UAE, and indeed they’ve recorded just one away win from their last 10 World Cup qualifiers which was at Chinese Taipei back in November 2015.
