Skive to get off to a good start against Koge

Football – Denmark – Nordic Bet Ligaen

Friday 25th July 2014 – Kickoff: 1900hrs

The Spar Nord Arena brings us Nordic Bet Ligaen’s new-boys Skive’s opening game of the season against Koge on Friday night in what should be an interesting encounter.

Skive were promoted from the 2nd Division West at the end of a very successful campaign last season and they have home advantage in their first second tier match of this term. Their overall home record last season was a commanding  12-2-1  37/12 but they will be aware that they’ll need to continue this form into this division if they’re to consolidate their position in the second tier.

Despite being priced as the under-dogs for this fixture, Skive actually have a pretty good record against tonight’s visitors Koge as they’ve lost once, drawn once and won twice in their last four meetings between the two sides.

Onto HB Koge then, and they finished last season in the Nordic Bet Ligaen in a safe mid-table position despite a below-par away record which ended up on  3-6-7  15/19, and they were the third lowest goalscorers away from home in the division.

Like a lot of teams, Koge will be depending once again on their home form to keep them out of trouble this term, and they face a potentially tricky away trip at newcomers Skive tonight, particularly when you consider Skive’s home form last season and Koge’s indifferent away performances in last season’s campaign.

To wrap up then, Skive will go into tonight’s match with home advantage and they stand a good chance of getting something out of this clash to get them off the mark. I’ll back the hosts with the asian handicap +0.5 (or double chance option – Skive win or draw) as I think they have enough for at least a point here.

Pick: Skive AH+0.5 @ 1.72 Pinnacle
