SWANSEA v LEICESTER – Pick: 1 – 25 October 2014

Swans too street-wise for Foxes

Premier League Tips

Football – England – Premier League

Saturday 25th October 2014 – Kickoff: 1700hrs

Swansea City will want to forget about their match at the Britannia Stadium quickly with some questionable refereeing decisions costing The Swans at least a point, and what better way than to return to winning ways at their Liberty Stadium?

They entertain bottom half club Leicester City in Saturday’s evening kick-off on the back of five matches without a Premiership win but let’s face a few facts; Swansea tend not to travel too well and a loss at Chelsea was no surprise. They did grab a point at Sunderland and were unlucky not to get a point at Stoke City – and let’s not forget their away win at Old Trafford earlier in the piece.

But it’s at the Liberty Stadium where they do most of their business, with an overall home record so far of  2-1-1  6/3 which includes wins over Burnley and West Brom (both to nil) along with a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.

Visitors Leicester City travel to Wales on the back of three matches without a win with recent defeats to 16th placed Crystal Palace 0-2 and 18th placed Newcastle United 0-1 (both away from home and both near the bottom of the division), along with a 2-2 draw at home with Burnley.

Like so many teams promoted from the Championship in their first season in the top flight for some time, The Foxes will be depending on their form at the King Power Stadium to keep them out of trouble, and Leicester City are no different.

But Leicester have lost three of their four away matches to date with defeats at Chelsea 0-2, along with the aforementioned Crystal Palace 0-2 and Newcastle United 0-1. Their one win was at Stoke City but they’ve found scoring goals hard to come by on the road with an away record of  1-0-3  1/5.

I believe Swansea City’s Premiership experience will be the difference here today and will show their ‘street-smarts’ at the Liberty Stadium where they’ll bounce back to take the points in what could be perhaps a 1-0 win.
