Mid-table Syrianska will be looking to avoid a third successive home defeat when they host Angelholm on Saturday afternoon at their Sodertalje Fotbollsarena.

Syrianska have recently suffered back-to-back home defeats to Jonkopings Sodra 0-2 and Superettan league leaders Hammarby in a high-scoring 2-4 loss, although they did turn things around last time out away at second from bottom club Assyriska 2-0.

But it’s Syrianska’s home form that interests us all for this pick and they’ve won once from their first four matches with heavy defeats to Sirius 1-5 and the aforementioned Hammarby and Jonkoping results. Their one success so far on home soil was a 3-0 win over Ostersunds, and their overall home record stands at  1-0-3  6/11.

Only Assyriska (12 goals) have conceded more goals at home than Syrianska, but the hosts are also very capable of finding the back of the net too as they’ve failed to score just once in their last 13 home matches.

Visitors Angelholm ended a run of five league matches without a win last time out on Monday night when they beat Husqvarna 2-0 which pulled them away from the bottom four and the relegation places below.

But the danger is still present as they’re only four points above GAIS who occupy one of the relegation play-off spots, so Angelholm will be keen to register back-to-back wins against a side who have struggled for any sort of consistency here this afternoon.

That said, Angelholm’s away record has also been a bit hit-and-miss with wins against Jonkopings Sodra 3-2 and league leaders Hammarby 2-1 but have since suffered back-to-back away losses at GIF Sundsvall 3-4 and a heavy 0-5 loss at Ljungskile, and their away record reads  2-0-2  8/12.

Both teams will be looking for all three points tonight as they’ll both feel they can win this one while they also both possess dangerous attacking players – Syrianska’s Grubjesic (6 goals) and Angelholm’s Monday Ayinoko (4 goals). This brings me to the conclusion that we could see some goals here, perhaps a 2-1 scoreline but it’s anyones guess as to who will get up. Take overs here.
