Tigre extended their unbeaten run to five matches last weekend when they took a valuable three points away at Sarmiento in a 1-0 win which has placed them in a Copa Libertadores play-off spot, but it’s still early days.
Tigre currently occupy 9th place in the Argentinian Primera Division thanks largely to a very solid home record where they still remain unbeaten on home soil with an overall record of 5-3-0 9/2 although they’ve drawn their last two home matches 0-0 with River Plate and Newell’s Old Boys respectively.
However, both of these recent opposition are currently occupying top half positions in the Primera Division, and with Quilmes coming to town, I daresay the hosts will be keen to take maximum points here this evening.
Visitors Quilmes are currently placed 22nd in the Primera Division consisting of 30 teams and perhaps this is no surprise as recent results have been of an inconsistent nature with recent wins against Argentinos Juniors and Racing Club being offset by defeats to San Lorenzo, Banfield and Boca Juniors.
Quilmes come up against another side who have shown solid form on home turf again this evening, and away form has again been up and down amongst an overall away record of 2-3-3 11/11 with wins and losses coming in equal measure in the past few weeks.
Quilmes’ away form may have seen them through against the weaker opposition on their travels so far, but I reckon they face a tough assignment when they come up against Tigre here tonight. I’ll back the hosts for perhaps a 1-0 win here to extend their impressive home form.
