White Hart Lane is the venue of my next pick as cross-town London rivals Tottenham prepare to take on Premier League leaders Chelsea with a valuable three points on offer for both sides who have european ambitions.
Tottenham sit in 5th place in the English top flight and still remain unbeaten on home turf with a very solid looking record that stands at 7-2-0 19/5 in addition to possessing the best defensive record at home in the division.
It’s likely that Spurs will need to call upon their rock-solid defence again for this evening’s clash, but having won their last four league matches on the trot with wins over Hull City and Burnley at home, along with emphatic away wins gained at Southampton and Watford (both by 4-1 margins), Tottenham will be in confident mood.
Visitors Chelsea are currently enjoying top place in the Premier League while manager Conte is enjoying the plaudits in his first ever season at the helm of a Premier League club. Chelsea make the short trip to Tottenham on the back of an amazing 13-match winning streak which has helped them to a useful five-point lead ahead of second placed Liverpool.
The Blues will therefore be keen to at least avoid defeat in this London clash, but they too have a very strong momentum behind them and will no doubt be looking to register a further three points here this evening.
Chelsea’s away record stands at an impressive 7-1-1 14/7, having won their last six away matches on the trot, and with the return of leading goalscorer and striker Diego Costa back in their ranks, they look a good bet to notch again here.
