A run of four straight wins in the Norwegian top flight was recently brought to an end for Valerenga as they came up against league leaders Rosenborg and away at fifth placed Molde in their last two matches.
However, Valerenga will have taken some confidence from their point at Molde in the 0-0 draw last weekend, and they now have a great chance of returning to winning ways this evening when they host second from bottom Bodo/Glimt at their Ullevaal Stadion.
Valerenga’s overall home record though stands at an inconsistent 3-0-3 11/9 and this has prevented the third placed club from making a serious challenge on the top club Rosenborg so far this season.
Bodo/Glimt once again find themselves in familiar territory in the Tippeligaen as they occupy second from bottom position in the league ladder as we approach the halfway stage of the season.
But three defeats from their last four league matches will have that effect as Bodo have suffered defeats against Lillestrom, Stabaek and Viking, and with another match against top half opposition in prospect tonight, they could well find themselves on the end of another defeat.
Bodo/Glimt’s away record stands at a poor 0-2-4 6/14 and they’ve actually now gone ten away matches without a win, scoring 11 goals for but conceding a total of 27 goals in reply during this period.
Bearing in mind the visitors’ leaky defence, I’ll back Valerenga to bounce back with a win tonight and cover the -1 asian line too in what could be a solid 2-0 win for the home side.
