Football – England – League One Betting Tips

Tuesday night brings us a bit of midweek action in the domestic leagues as the fixture list cleans up the straggling matches that were postponed earlier in the campaigns, starting with Walsall taking on Port Vale in League One at The Banks’s Stadium.

Walsall’s League One status for next season was confirmed some while ago as The Saddlers currently sit in a mid-table position with neither the play-offs or relegation being a concern for the west midlands outfit.

Walsall possess a decent record though on home turf of  11-5-5  33/24 which they’ll be looking to preserve when Port Vale visit on Tuesday night as they look to bounce back from their local derby defeat away at Coventry City on the weekend. The Saddlers also possess a pretty strong record at home against bottom half opposition with stats of  6-2-2  19/12 to date.

Port Vale head to the midlands on Tuesday night knowing they must take all three points against Walsall if they’re to stand any chance of avoiding the drop down to League Two following their 2-0 defeat at home to high-flying Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Mathematically, it’s a shoot-out between Shrewsbury Town (51 points), Bury (50 points), Gillingham (49 points) and Port Vale (45 points) as to who will be relegated from League One, but Port Vale will need to win only their second away match of the whole campaign this evening to stand even a chance of survival.

The defeat to Bolton was Port Vale’s fifth straight loss on the trot in recent matches, while their away record stands at a woeful  1-6-14  12/39 which also includes five straight defeats prior to their trip to Walsall this evening.
