Football – England – Premier League

Sunday 18th January 2015 – Kickoff: 1330hrs

West Ham have been subject to two very difficult fixtures when they recently lost to Chelsea (away) and then Arsenal (at home), followed by frustrating 1-1 draws with West Brom and Swansea City, but they’ll be wanting to rubber-stamp the three points this afternoon when they take on Hull City.

Despite these four matches without a win, West Ham are just three points adrift of fifth placed Arsenal and with an overall home record of  6-2-3  16/10 behind them, they’ll be confident of taking the points to keep their bid for a european spot on track.

With just one defeat from their last nine at the Boleyn Ground, The Hammers have every reason to be in confident mood as they’ve already dispatched the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Swansea City on home turf.

The return to form of striker Andy Carroll who has scored 4 goals in his last 7 for the hosts also looks the most likely anytime goalscorer here.

Visitors Hull City make the trip down to London amidst a growing list of injuries with strikers Jelavic and Hernandez limping off in last week’s defeat at West Brom, and they join the likes of Diame, Snodgrass, Robertson and Rosenior while Ramirez and Aluko are rated extremely doubtful.

These injuries are expected to make a significant impact upon Steve Bruce’s side who will be extremely grateful for a point if they can hold West Ham at bay for ninety minutes. But with just one away win from their last ten trips, the likelihood of a point seems a slim one as they posses a poor away record of  2-4-5  10/15 having suffered recent defeats at Manchester United, Chelsea and the big blow, West Brom.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has already pencilled in three points on this date in his fixture calendar, but it’s time for the red ink to come out and West Ham to stand up for the three points. A 1-0 win for the hosts.
