Wigan too good for Rochdale at DW Stadium

League One/Two Tips

WIGAN ATHLETIC v ROCHDALE

Monday 28th March 2016 – Kickoff: 1330hrs

Football – England – League One Betting Tips

Next up is an all-Lancashire affair with hosts Wigan Athletic taking on Rochdale as the hosts look to register a third consecutive League One win following wins over Bradford City and Swindon Town, and they’ll be looking to close the gap on league leaders Burton Albion too.

Wigan are now unbeaten in their last 17 League One matches and they hold an important three-point cushion ahead of third placed Walsall, but The Latics will be desperate to chalk up another three points to push home their claim for automatic promotion back to the Championship here this afternoon.

Wigan’s home record stands at a solid  11-6-2  32/12 and are unbeaten in their last eight at the DW Stadium, along with a good record at home against top half opposition with stats of  4-2-1  15/8 having gained three wins on the trot in these situations recently.

Visitors Rochdale are also staking their claims for a play-off place in League One on the back of four straight wins against Coventry City, Bury, Oldham Athletic and Southend United although their away performances have been inconsistent throughout the season thus far.

Dale are still four points adrift of the last play-off place and Bradford City as their away results seem to have let them down this season with an overall record of  5-6-8  22/29 under their belts, and it looks like they’ll need to depend on their performances at Spotland if they’re to gain a top six finish.

This is further emphasised when looking at Rochdale’s record away at top half teams with stats of  2-3-5  13/20.
