Both Wimbledon and Portsmouth to score in early kick-off

League One/Two Tips

AFC WIMBLEDON v PORTSMOUTH

Monday 28th March 2016 – Kickoff: 1245hrs

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

After reaching the dizzy heights of the English top flight and both appearing in the FA Cup Final (with Wimbledon beating Liverpool in the 1987/88 season while Portsmouth lost in the final to Chelsea as recently as 2010), some would say that both of these teams have now found their true level in the English pyramid.

Nevertheless, this match is between two top half teams in League Two with Wimbledon chasing a play-off spot while Portsmouth currently occupy sixth place. But Wimbledon’s play-off aspirations have taken a serious dent in recent times as they’ve gained just one win from their last seven in League Two which was a 2-1 home win over floundering York City.

Wimbledon have been inconsistent all season (both home and away) with a home record of  8-4-7  27/24 but they’ve failed to score on home turf on just four occasions, while both teams have scored a total of 12 times out of 19 home matches to date.

Visitors Portsmouth are just five points adrift of the automatic promotion spot and Bristol Rovers as they prepare for the trip down to London to face Wimbledon having lost just once in their last seven league matches overall.

Portsmouth have also been solid on their away trips too this season as they currently hold an impressive record of  8-8-3  29/21 having lost just once in their last seven matches on their travels – that being a 1-0 loss away at Barnet last month.

But Portsmouth have failed to score just twice away from home all season, while both teams have scored a total of 15 times out of their 19 away matches to date.
