WOLVES v BURNLEY

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Wolves reverted to type on Tuesday night when they stumbled to a 1-0 loss away at Bristol City which has left Wolves in the bottom half of the Championship and manager Kenny Jackett starting to perspire as the pressure on his side builds.

Wolves have lost four of their last five matches overall with only a 2-0 win away at west midlands rivals Birmingham City to show for which gave Jackett a stay of execution for a short while. Recent defeats against Derby County, Brentford, Middlesbrough and Bristol City suggest that they could well struggle against an in-form Burnley outfit this afternoon.

Wolves’ home record stands at  2-2-3  9/10 and they’ve suffered back-to-back defeats on home turf to Brentford and Middlesbrough, so the pressure will increase this afternoon on the hosts to perform here.

Visitors Burnley head into this afternoon’s clash on the back of a six-match unbeaten streak which includes wins over Rotherham United, Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town and Fulham while The Clarets hold a solid away record of  3-3-1  7/6 on the road.

Burnley’s only loss so far was away at Ipswich Town in a 2-0 defeat but since then Sean Dyche’s side have steadily gained momentum and now sit top of the Championship along with Hull City and Brighton.

Striker Andre Gray has been on a red-hot goalscoring streak of late and looks a good bet to notch again here this afternoon against a nervous Wolves defensive unit.

I’ll take advantage of the generously-priced draw no bet option on Burnley here as they could well take all three points in perhaps a 2-1 win.
