WOLVES v HUDDERSFIELD – Pick: 1 – 01 October 2014

Wolves to continue good run at Molineux

Championship Tips

Football – England – Championship

Wednesday 1st October 2014 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Wolves will feel a little peeved in retrospect after gaining just one point away at Reading in an entertaining 3-3 draw having taken the lead with just one minute remaining of the match.

However, Reading scored a late equaliser and Wolves went back to the midlands with one point instead of all three but they have a great chance of grabbing a maximum haul tonight when they take on Championship strugglers Huddersfield Town at Molineux.

Wolves have remained unbeaten in their last seven Championship matches which includes wins over relegated pair Fulham and Cardiff City, along with victories over Lancashire pair Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers.

Their overall home record stands at a 100% of  4-0-0  6/1 having won their first four on the trot on home turf, but manager Kenny Jackett will be particularly pleased at his defence keeping three clean sheets from these four matches.

Visitors Huddersfield Town ended a run of five league matches without a win on Saturday when they beat Millwall 2-1 which handed new boss Chris Powell his first league win since joining The Terriers following his departure from Charlton Athletic.

That win on the weekend lifted the Yorkshire outfit away from the immediate relegation places but they face a tough test in their bid for a revival when they make the trip to the west midlands to take on third placed Wolves tonight.

Huddersfield will be bidding to avoid a third successive away defeat following losses at Watford 2-4 and a 0-3 defeat at Yorkshire rivals Leeds United while their overall away record this season so far stands at  1-0-3  5/11.

Wolves hold a good record at Molineux while Huddersfield have shipped way too many goals of late so I’ll back the hosts to take the points here in what could be perhaps a 1-0 win.
