Yeovil and Portsmouth to notch at Huish Park

League One/Two Tips

YEOVIL TOWN v PORTSMOUTH

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

Next up is a look at League Two and an intriguing fixture between hosts Yeovil Town and visitors and play-off contenders, Portsmouth when the two teams meet at Huish Park on Friday evening with a valuable three points up for grabs.

Yeovil’s recent form has taken a bit of a dip in their past few matches as The Glovers have managed to register just one league win during their last five matches which incidentally was a resounding 5-0 home win over Crawley Town, but defeats to Barnet and Carlisle United have pegged them back a little.

Nevertheless, Yeovil have suffered just one defeat from their last eight matches on home turf which was the loss to Barnet, but the Somerset side have registered wins against Cheltenham, Wycombe Wanderers, Newport County, Colchester United and Crawley Town which will give them confidence here.

Onto Portsmouth, and they’re in the play-off mix ahead of their trip to the west country as they sit in fourth spot in League Two. However, Pompey will be very aware of the fact that they’ve now fallen behind the top three teams of the division as they look to reduce the five-point gap that currently exists between themselves and third placed Carlisle United.

Portsmouth have also lost just once in their last eight league matches overall which was a surprising 2-1 defeat at home to Stevenage, but they’ve otherwise been pretty steady in recent weeks as they’ve racked up wins over Luton Town 3-1 away, a 1-0 win at Grimsby Town and a 3-2 win at Newport County.

Indeed, Portsmouth have performed well on the road so far this season as they hold a 6-3-3  14/12 record and are unbeaten in their last seven matches on their travels.
