National League Tips

YORK CITY v GUISELEY

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

My next pick features two teams struggling at the bottom of the English National League with hosts York City taking on Guiseley at Bootham Crescent with a precious three points up for grabs for both sides in their quest to avoid relegation.

York are on a miserable run of form right now as they’ve failed to win any of their last 14 league matches (and indeed have lost 9 of these), as they sit second from bottom in the non-league top flight but they’ll fancy their chances of ending this dismal run this evening with home ground advantage.

The Minstermen hold a reasonable looking home record of  3-4-4  14/13 and they also hold an impressive record at home against teams in the bottom half of the division with a record of  3-0-0  9/1 having beaten Macclesfield Town, Woking and Solihull Moors.

Visitors Guiseley have fared slightly better in their overall league results of late than their counterparts York City as they’ve gained four wins from their last nine matches played, but it should be noted that all four of these wins were achieved at their Nethermoor Park ground with wins recorded against tonight’s opponents York City (6-1), Southport, Torquay United and Boreham Wood.

However, Guiseley are third from bottom in the National League for a reason, and that is due to their woeful away record which stands at an atrocious  0-1-10  6/22 as they’ve picked up just one point from the possible 33 on offer to date!

That point was earned in a 1-1 draw with 18th placed Maidstone United but they head into this encounter on the back of five straight defeats on the road (and all to nil I might add).
