It’s off to the Iranian top flight next with my next pick featuring hosts Zob Ahan taking on Pro League strugglers Saba Qom at their Fol?d Shahr Stadium as the home side look to take all three points which could lift them up into third spot.
Zob Ahan are unbeaten in their last ten league matches overall and they’ve been in very solid form in recent weeks too as they’ve kept four clean sheets on the trot amidst an overall impressive home record which stands at 6-2-1 13/4.
The hosts have also registered six straight wins on home turf too having accounted for Sepahan, Esteghial, Paykan, current league leaders Persepolis, Mashhad and Foolad – and all six have been to nil.
Visitors Saba Qom currently occupy second from bottom spot in the Iranian Pro League ahead of their difficult trip to Zob Ahan, particularly as they’ve recorded just one league win from their last 12 matches overall.
That rare win came in a 1-0 home win over sixth placed Paykan, and this was only Saba Qom’s second win of the entire season, both of which have been registered at their Yadegar-e-Emam Stadium in Qom.
Meanwhile, away from home, Saba Qom have been poor on their travels as they’re still yet to record a win on the road as their away record stands at a very ordinary 0-3-6 6/15 and in fact, they’ve managed just one win on the road from their last 18 overall in the Pro League.
This should therefore be a home victory for an in-form Zob Ahan side here.
