PGA Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Betting Info

More quality action from the PGA Tour this week, again in Florida as the Arnold Palmer Invitation tees off on Thursday. We are at Bay Hill for this one, and it is a pretty challenging course as it is not really very forgiving in most areas of the game. It is one of the longer courses around, going off over 7,419 yards but that hasn’t always played into the hands of the big hitters. There is enough room on the fairways to work with and the driving really isn’t going to be too big of a factor off the tees, what really is going to count at Bay Hill is the accuracy of second shots because the greens are tough to land. For your golf betting this week in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, look for big experience at the course, because rookies have historically struggled badly here. There is usually a lot of wind to deal with at Bay Hill as well, so a very challenging four days ahead for players.

PGA Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Betting Defending Champion

Martin Laird is the defending champion here and he has been knocking on the door of a big win, and he makes a very good fit for Bay Hill. Would expect to go well, and would therefore dismiss his performance at the Transitional last week where he missed the cut. The big fit with Laird is that he is third on the PGA Tour this season for Greens in Regulation, an absolute must for Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Betting. He is enjoying a good season and such a solid player, the Scot, who already has two top fives this season (including a second at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions looks a very solid bet at 66/1 with Stan James because there are bigger names in the field, so he is under the radar.

PGA Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Betting Favourite

Tiger Woods has immediately been instated as the tournament favourite, despite limping out of the Transitions last week with a gammy leg. He did put in an appearance at the Tavistock Cup though on Monday/Tuesday and there doesn’t seem to be any issues with his fitness. His record at Bay Hill speaks for itself, as he has won the tournament six times before and is the all time money leader here. Woods is getting back close to his best, and he is leading the PGA Tour in the all-round stat at the moment, as well as driving Has shown that he can play his way into contention, his best finish a T2 at the Honda Classic. Can he go all the way though? There is still the hesitation of him pulling out one bad round over the four days. Still, topping the bill as favourite as he has owned this course before, at a best market price of 8/1 with Bet Victor.

Other Contenders

A quality field chasing the honours in Florida again this week, led by Phil Mickelson, The big leftie didn’t get into his groove at the WGC Cadillac, but did win the AT&T Pebble Beach and landed a P2 at the Northern Trust Open after a play off. So he is in good form. Finished just one under par last year at Bay Hill, which was good enough for a T24 place. He is the man to turn too usually when it needs some accuracy in his approach work, but is only down in 113th for the GIR this season so far, but 12th in Birdie Average. England’s Justin Rose, winner of the Transitional is up there in the betting as well, simply because he is the form man heading into the next stage of the Florida swing. Rose played well last week, following up on his win at the WGC Cadillac, although did fluctuate between dithering and being gung-ho. It all paid off in the end though, so no problem with his game. The biggest factor about Justin Rose over the last couple of years has been his step up in consistency. Rose finished T3 here last season as well, so is a great fit at the moment.

Webb Simpson seems to be winding up to top gear again and played very well at the Transitions last week, where he landed his third top ten of the year, thanks to four solid sub-70 rounds of golf. Has the accuracy to land a good finish in Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Betting this week, as he sits 10th on Tour in the GIR. Sergio Garcia should be able to challenge here this week, as the Spaniard has a good record at Bay Hill, with six top ten finishes from ten starts here. Was solid enough at the Transitions last week to build upon and very hot with the putter at the moment, so he will take his chances.

Best Outside Bet

Jeff Overton looks to be in good shape to make an assault on the top of the leader-board. Coming off the back of a good week at the Transitions where he just missed the play offs. He landed a T5 there and his results have gotten better and better with each tournament that he has played this season. Trending upwards at the moment and could have a good weekend, and for a price of 66/1 at Stan James, worth a punt.
