2012 Premier League Darts Betting Info
There are two new faces in Premier League Darts betting to look at this season, with Andy Hamilton and Kevin Painter making their first forays into the event. This is the eighth edition of the tournament, and only one man has been present at them all. No real guesses as to who, as that is Phil The Power Taylor, who is back for more. Taylor has won the event five times out the seven previous incarnations, tasting success most recently back in the 2010 season. After losing just one match in last year’s regular season (a thumping 8-2 humiliation against Adrian Lewis on week one), Taylor hit back with a vengeance winning all thirteen matches after that. However, he came unstuck against Lewis again in the semi finals, losing 8-3 to the man known as his apprentice. This year’s Premier League Darts betting will culminate in the season finale at The O2 Arena in London on May 17th.

2012 Premier League Darts Betting Defending Champion
The impressive Gary Anderson took the title last season, beating World Champion Adrian Lewis in the final. It was a comfortable victory in the end for the Scot, who won 10-4, having seen off Raymond van Barneveld in the semi finals. Anderson had racked up eight wins, one draw and five loses during the regular season, finishing in third place in the table to make it to the knockout stages. Not bad going at all for the powerful Scot, who crowned his event debut by winning the title. He is back to defend his title, yet is out at 6/1 with Paddy Power to be successful this year.
2012 Premier League Darts Betting Favourite
Little surprise again that it is Phil Taylor who is leading the 2012 Premier League darts betting. Why? Well he has all the tools necessary for this time of event. Endurance and consistency. No, he is not one of the younger guys, but he has that remarkable consistency to just turn up every week and rattle off wins. He is the master, the one who everyone wants to beat, and he is arguably not as consistent as his old powerful self, but he should still be there on finals night. Taylor is trading at 7/4 with Ladbrokes.
Double World Champion and Phil Taylor’s World Cup winning partner Adrian Lewis is trading well. He struggled a little bit last season, scraping into the last knockout place by one point, simply because of his inconsistencies. As brilliant as he can be, highlight in winning the World Championship for the second year running, he can be a little unfocused in these once weekly turnouts. Still, the bookies fancy his stock rising a bit more and are covering themselves on him. If last season is anything to go by Gary Anderson will have a big presence in the contest again. Simon Whitlock, who had a decent World Cup, missed out on the final four by one point and is a dangerous floater, so too England’s James Wade, who should compete for a top four place. Raymond van Barneveld went well last season, putting in a lot of consistent performances to reach the semi final knockout. Doubtful whether or not he has the finishing power to go all the way or not, leaving new boys Andy Hamilton and Kevin Painter, neither of which are being given much hope by the bookies, and they are rank outsiders in this enduring darting test.
