Arsenal vs Partizan Belgrade Betting Odds, Preview & Tips – Wednesday, December 8

Arsenal v Partizan Belgrade Betting Tip & Odds: Well, even though they have lost two matches in the Champions League this season, your money should be going down on a home win for Arsenal. Partizan Belgrade have not shown anywhere near as much promise as they were expected to have, and having beaten them away, the Gunners should pick up three points to secure safe passage through to the knockout round. However, it may not be as group winners though, as they will need Shakhtar Donetsk to lose for that to happen. Still, concentrating on this game, you should expect some Arsenal goals at home in Europe to a side which hasn’t picked up a victory. Arsenal to win by 2 goals 10/3 at Stan James

Champions League Match Preview: This is arguably the most interesting match in this week’s Champions League fixtures involving and English side, as Arsenal are the one of the four which aren’t top of their group. With Spurs, Chelsea and Man Utd all safely through, Arsenal are making hard work of things for themselves. It was all looking rosy for them until they blew a lead against Ukrainian’s Shakhtar Donetsk, and then more shocking lost 2-0 against Braga, with the Portuguese side striking their goals late into the match. So now Arsenal are in a bit of a pickle, as they are three points behind Shakhtar Donetsk, and level on points with Braga. The final fixtures may just be enough to save them though, because being at home against Partizan, who haven’t won a game in the group stage yet, should be a banker for the Gunners. That, combined with leaders Shakhtar playing, and being expected to beat Braga, it should all work out for Arsenal on the night. It is still a fascinating end to the group though, and Arsenal have hit fifteen goals in their five matches, which isn’t a bad return. Things have just slipped a little bit for them, but it is hard to see the home fixture at the Emirates going any other way than a home win.
Arsenal beat Partizan when they met in Belgrade, and that was quite a defining performance from Arsenal on the night. It was one which mean they had to show a bit of grit, some good battling qualities, not things which the Gunners are renowned for, in order to get through the match. That was supposed to have been a key match for them to go on and wrap up the league comfortably, but it hasn’t happened that way, and there is a big likelihood that they are not going to be able to secure top spot, which means that in the knockout stage of the competition, they will get drawn against a seeded team (one of the other group winners), which could be Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich. That really puts a dampener on choosing Arsenal to go very deep in the tournament this year. They may have just dug themselves a hole which is just a little bit too deep to get out of. However, on the plus side, Arsenal have battled, scrapped and played some marvellous football in getting to the top of the Premier League. They did this with the help of Samir Nasri who netted a brace against Fulham at the Emirates on Saturday. With Manchester United not in action, and Chelsea failing to beat Everton, Arsenal go into this match as Premier League leaders. That should do wonders for settling nerves and boosting confidence.
Arsenal have won both of their home matches in the Champions League this season, and with such a fantastic home record in the competition, they look like a safe bet. In last season’s Champions League, Arsenal won all of their home matches until they ran into Barcelona at the Emirates, and even then they didn’t lose, holding on for a great 2-2 draw. So Arsenal at home in Europe is a pretty safe bet, and with the quality they have in their side, then they should get through this one comfortably. Partizan should be nothing to fear for the Gunners, as the Serbians have lost all five of their matches this season, scoring just one goal and conceding ten. When you average conceding two goals per match in Europe, then heading to Arsenal shouldn’t give their defence much to look forward to. You would expect Arsenal to run up a few goals here for a comfortable win, and maybe the glimmer of hope that would see them win the group will happen. If Shakhtar Donetsk lose to Braga, then Arsenal would top the group on goal difference. The likelihood of Braga beating Donetsk? Well, anything can happen in this group, but Shakhtar are the better side. They beat Braga in Portugal 3-0 and so have home advantage for this one, so you realistically have to expect another win for the Ukrainians, leaving Arsenal in second place and heading for potential trouble in the first knockout stage. First things first though, they need to see off Partizan Belgrade to secure their place in the next round. They’ll do that comfortably and hope for a Braga bonanza on top.
