Betting for Haiti #2
January 27th, 2010 / Lee A JacksonSo the first Bet for Haiti didn’t go to well, as my Columbus Blue Jackets, who are pretty much basement dwellers in the NHL, decided to unfamiliarly rally against one of their fiercest rivals, and come out a 3-2 winners. Still, using the Bet365 free bet option, allowed me to put that £5 on Chelsea to beat Birmingham in the Premier League. Chelsea is the team which I support, ever since being introduced to them way back when Kerry Dixon, Pat Nevin and David Speedie were running around looking better than they really were. Playing at Stamford Bridge, this looked like a perfect banker to me.
There was a little dabble on Bet365’s Live In-Play betting in the Women’s Quarter Final match between Serena Williams and Azaranka last night. Unfortunately I backed Azarenka to win when she was one set up, and 4-2 up in the second. She was simply looking in brilliant, untouchable form. That went pear shaped too however, which is a shame, because the Belarusian provided some wonderful entertainment with her energetic and slightly comedic high pitched yells of effort when hitting the ball. She will be missed. So will the £1 which I backed her with. The same thing happened in Roger Federer’s match. I backed Davydenko, who is one of the sharpest players on the tour at the moment, and it was all looking rosy after one and a half sets. So, I went to sleep feeling confident, but then clearly Roger Federer woke up to go on and win 3-1.
Not a very auspicious start, but surely my beloved Chelsea wouldn’t let me down. They didn’t, running out 3-0 winners against a stubborn Birmingham side. Yay! Profit. Here we go! After playing with my Bet365 Free Bet money, we’re a little down but hoping for a good day. Today I’ve gone for a Trixie on Serena Williams, Deportivo La Coruna and Flamengo RJ to win out, and will be making the most of a £1 bet per day over the next 13 days. All this is in aid of raising money for Partners in Health, to continue to bring relief to grief stricken Haiti. If there is anything to give, then please do so at the top link below…it is much appreciated on a personal level.
