Both Teams to Score – Betting on Premier League

BTTS - Both Teams to Score

Cyril's Betting Advice

Browsing through the internet I’ve noticed that many punters are turning their attention to a betting strategy/system known as BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE. This is a very simple method as it just works very simply. You need to find a match(es) in which both teams find their opponents net.

As with any type of strategy/system there is some work to be done before we can go to the Pay Out window. Also the stats need up-dating as each match is finished.

As usual I’ll deal firstly with the PREMIERSHIP. Here there is a current return of almost 60% of matches, in which both teams score. So we can expect to find 6 matches ending thus over any weekend or midweek programme, over an average number of games. So we must look for the sides which appear to be goal-shy. At either end of the pitch. Then we forget about them and concentrate on the rest.

At present ‘Spurs are the punters favourite having been involved in 12 games which ended BTTS. From 14 matches played. Other teams who have played 14 games are, Everton and Southampton with 11 games BTTS.
Man.U, Q.P.R. Newcastle and W.B.A. all return 9 games BTTS from their 14 matches. Liverpool, Chelsea, Man. City, Arsenal and Fulham come next with 8 BTTS from their games. Swansea, Norwich, Wigan and West Ham boast 7 BTTS.

Bringing up the rear of the 14 gamers are Aston Villa and Stoke City who have only managed 6 such games.

The numbers are made-up by, Reading 9 from 13 games and Sunderland 7 from 13 games.

We now have some basics stats to work from. So we obviously need to find anything that can help to make our minds up on which appear the most potent for our cause.

Next I suggest we total the goals FOR and AGAINST for each of the twenty sides. Hopefully this will give us an idea of where we can expect to see goals going in consistently.

Both Teams to Score - Premier League

Team Goals
Southampton 52
Man. United 51
Fulham 48
'Spurs 48
Everton 42
W.B.A. 42
Wigan 40
Reading 39
Arsenal 38
Swansea 38
Man. City 37
Chelsea 37
Liverpool 36
Q.P.R. 36
Newcastle 35
Aston Villa 33
W.H.U. 32
Norwich 31
Sunderland 28
Stoke 25

This list will give an a glance show of where the goals have been rife, up to the midweek programme ending 28/11/12.

A good guide to future outcomes will be to look at up and coming fixtures and note how many games any of the paired sides have returned so far this season.
Another good indicator may well be to add together the total goals, for and against, for the two teams in any match. The higher totals would be well worth considering from a punting point of view.

There will, of course, be occasions when a team with a high for and against figure will be playing a team with a much lower totals figure. This will always prove to be a bit of a headache. Teams like Stoke, at home, are difficult to score against. Even for free-scoring teams. This type of game is best left to just watch and
learn.

As the opportunity presents itself, I will set up similar stats for the other three leagues and also the Conference.
