They had Brazil on the ropes in their group match, until Fred popped up with an 89th minute equaliser for the Brazilians. Paraguay also had Venezuela on the ropes, leading 3-1 until the final two minutes in which they blew it and ended up drawing 3-3. Paraguay have not been afraid to attack in the 2011 Copa America, and they have pretty much played without reservation. This is pretty much the same squad which they had at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. They have probably been forced into that, because their back line, and defensive midfield area hasn’t been very good, and so they have needed their forward conviction.
