Coca Cola Championship Injuries/Suspensions Team News – 20-23 November 2009

Swansea City v Derby County
Swansea have not beaten tonight’s visitors Derby County in 26 years, but will feel they have a great chance in breaking this trend following a ten match unbeaten run – they could go as high as third place depending on the weekend’s results.
The Swans have doubts over Mark Gower(1gl,3assts) and skipper Garry Monk.
Derby, without a win on the road so far this season will be without winger Kris Commons(1gl) and Steven Davies(1asst), while leading scorer Rob Hulse(5gls) and defender Paul Connolly are both expected to play.
 
Barnsley v Cardiff City
Barnsley midfielder Michael Coulson has joined League Two Grimsby Town on loan.
Tykes midfielder Hugo Colace(2assts) will need to pass a late fitness test, while skipper Stephen Foster(1gl) returns from suspension.
Bluebirds defender Adam Matthews(1gl,1asst) is very doubtful with a groin injury.
Fellow defender Kevin McNaughton is ready to return, as are leading scorers Peter Whittingham(10gls,3assts) and Michael Chopra(11gls) after a knee injury & suspension respectively.
Defender Anthony Gerrard is ruled out though.
 
Coventry v Crystal Palace
Coventry have signed Sheff Weds defender Richard Wood(2gls) on loan until the New Year with a view to a permanent move.
Sky Blues keeper Kieran Westwood is hoping to be fit also, but defender Ben Turner & Isaac Osbourne are both sidelined.
Palace young winger Kieron Djilali has joined Chesterfield on loan.
Meanwhile Patrick McCarthy(1asst) and Sean Scannell will both miss out through injury.
 
Doncaster v QPR
Doncaster will be missing skipper Martin Woods(3gls,4assts) through suspension,while striker Dean Shiels(3gls,1asst) & defender Jason Shackell(1gl) are both doubtful.
However, Rovers look set to welcome back injured trio Adam Lockwood(2gls),Byron Webster and left back Gareth Roberts(1asst).
QPR have signed Blackburn midfielder Steven Reid on a month’s loan and is expected to go straight into the starting line-up for the trip to Doncaster.
Gavin Mahon(1gl,1asst) & Martin Rowlands are still sidelined for some time.
Defender Fitz Hall and striker Rowan Vine(1gl,1asst) also miss out.
 
Leicester City v Plymouth
Leicester will have midfielder Andy King available again after injury, but ever-present Matt Oakley(3assts) misses out due to suspension.
Plymouth skipper Carl Fletcher(1gl) returns from suspension, but Argyle have injury doubts over Alan Judge(3gls),Craig Noone and on-loan David Gray.

Middlesbrough v Nottm Forest
Boro are set to parade their two loan signings striker Dave Kitson & Isiah Osbourne for the visit of Forest.
Emanuel Pogatetz could return with a protective mask.
Boro midfielder Josh Walker has joined Northampton Town on loan until January.
Forest have not lost on the road so far, and are further boosted by the increasing fitness of James Perch although he won’t figure in the trip to Middlesbrough.
They also hope Dexter Blackstock(5gls) is fit again to return.
 
Reading v Blackpool
Reading, who have only scored 3 goals at home this season will still be without striker Shane Long.
Otherwise, manager Brendan Rogers has no other injury concerns as he bids to keep his job intact!
High-flying Blackpool will be without Hameur Bouzza(1gl) and Ishmel Demontagnac for the long trip down South.
 
Sheff Utd v Peterborough
It’s one in, one out for The Blades this week – defender Chris Morgan(1gl,2assts) returns from suspension, but Darius Henderson(7gls) is suspended.
Derek Geary,Lee Williamson,Andrew Davies,Jordan Stewart & Matthew Kilgallon(1gl) should all be declared fit.
New Peterborough manager Mark Cooper has a tough first assignment, but also has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Watford v Scunthorpe Utd
Watford take on The Iron still missing their important injured trio of keeper Richard Lee,defender Jay De Merit and Ross Jenkins(1asst).
Scunthorpe are boosted by the return of striker Gary Hooper(5gls,3assts) and midfielder Josh Wright.
However, keeper Joe Murphy is suspended so Josh Lillis looks set for a stint between the sticks.

West Brom v Bristol City

West Brom are without the usual suspects – long term absentees Ishmael Miller, Neil Clement and James Morrison are still sidelined.
City will  be without defender Bradley Orr, while Ivan Sproule and Jamie McAllister(2assts) are both expected to be fit.
 
Ipswich v Sheff Weds

Ipswich look set to welcome back defenders Tommy Smith and Gareth McAuley(2gls) for the visit of Sheff Weds, the Tractor Boys looking to pull away from the relegation places.
Wednesday midfielder Tommy Miller is doubtful with a groin injury and could miss the game against his former club.
Meanwhile, Michael Gray(2gls,2assts) is set to make a return. 
 
Preston NE v Newcastle Utd
Preston have signed Stoke City midfielder Michael Tonge on loan until the end of December.
Newcastle Utd have extended keeper Fraser Forster’s loan at Norwich until the end of the season.
