David’s Over/Under Predictions 29-31 August

August 28th, 2009 / davidp

Over/Under 2.5 goals predictions

Blackburn v West Ham – Under 2.5
Blackburn will be hoping for their first win of the season when they host West Ham who never travel well, and only have one senior striker in Carlton Cole.
Blackburn will be without defender Nelson (knee ligaments) and Gallagher(hamstring) is doubtful.
Ilunga(fractured cheekbone) joins long-term absentees Ashton(ankle) & Boa Morte(knee ligaments), and also likely to be missing is Behrami(knee).
Prediction: Under 2.5

Swansea v Watford – Under 2.5
The Swans are missing 11 players – Stephen Dobbie,Guillem Bauza,Albert Serran,Fede Bessone,Ferrie Bodde,Darren Pratley,Joe Allen & Tom Butler who are all injured, while striker Gorka Pintado, Garry Monk & Angel Rangel are suspended. Besian Idrizaj should be fit, Last season’s top scorer Jason Scotland has since departed to Wigan, but a surprise return of former striker,Lee Trundle and new signing Craig Beattie will boost the attack.
Watford are without striker Tommy Smith who has transferred to Portsmouth. Defender Matt Williamson has handed in a transfer request. Striker Danny Graham faces a late fitness test and Nathan Ellington is still struggling.
With many players unavailable for Swansea and Watford losing Tommy Smith, it’s hard to see where the goals are going to come from in this one.

Doncaster v Cardiff – Under 2.5
Doncaster could include their loan signing defender Jason Shackell for the visit of Cardiff.
Manager Sean O`Driscoll has doubts over Martin Woods(calf) and Gareth Roberts(ankle), but striker Steve Brooker(ankle) & Stuart Elliott(ankle) are out. John Spicer could return after a hamstring injury.
Cardiff reserve defender Darcy Blake has joined Plymouth on loan.

Stoke v Sunderland – Under 2.5
Stoke will check on Tonge(flu) & Faye(back) before the game against Sunderland, but striker Sidibe(knee) remains long-term injured.
Stoke are expected to name new signing defender Robert Huth in their squad.
Sunderland’s only absentee is McShane(knee) and is expected to be out for around 5 weeks.
Prediction: I can’t separate these two teams, so I think the likely result is a draw.
