Sunderland vs Aston Villa Betting – Tuesday Premier League Round-Up

December 14th, 2009 / Lee A Jackson

Premier League Tuesday Round Up

With Manchester United hoping that they can draw level on points with Chelsea on Tuesday night, there are three other Premier League matches taking place, and one of them could have a big impact as far as the Big Four go.

Sunderland vs. Aston Villa
The conquerors of Manchester United on Saturday, Aston Villa will look for another good away win, which will set them into third place in the Premier League. Martin O’Neill’s men are looking more accomplished than they have done in years, and while they are still playing catch-up to Manchester United and Chelsea, they are at least holding their own when it comes to the race for a top-four finish and a Champions League place. Sunderland, after spending a lot in the summer, were level with Villa at one point, but have subsequently dropped back and now trail the Claret and Blue by 8 points and six places. Villa have all the incentive in the world to go and put in another dogged away performance, for third place is at stake. A win will send them one point clear of Arsenal, who play on Wednesday. The Gunner’s will still hold a game in hand over them though, so it is vital that Villa continue to pick up the points. Sunderland failed to beat bottom club Portsmouth on Saturday, being held to 1-1 draw.

Sunderland to win: 2/1 at SkyBet
Draw: 5/2 at SkyBet
Aston Villa to win: 6/4 at Bet365

The other two matches on Tuesday sees Birmingham host Blackburn, and Bolton play West Ham in a crucial basement battle between second and third teams respectively, from bottom. This is a good chance to pick up a double, or perhaps one of those elusive trebles with the fixtures on Tuesday night, using Manchester United, albeit at short odds, as a good base for multiple bet options.

Draw: 5/2 at SkyBet
Blackburn to win: 13/5 at SkyBet

Botlon to win: 13/10 at Paddy Power
