There should be a pretty competitive race ran in Victor Chandler Chase betting at Ascot on Saturday. The 25th Anniversary of The Victor Chandler Chase (Registered As Clarence House Chase) has a small but competitive field in there, and the big two of Finian’s Rainbow and Al Ferof are duking it out at the front of the betting field. Both have already had their process cut in the build up to Saturday’s race and the Nicky Henderson trained Finian’s Rainbow is edging things after being primed for this race. The implications do go beyond Saturday’s race at Ascot, because these two will come head to head again at the Cheltenham Festival in the Champion Chase. So a good chance to show some form and preparation for the Festival meeting and Finian’s Rainbow, ridden by Barry Geraghty had such an impressive season last year, and continued the form at the start of this year’s National Hunt with a three quarters of a length win over Wishfull Thinking in December at Kempton. Granted that was not the fastest paced race, but Finian’s Rainbow showed his quality where he fell four lengths back of the leaders after a mistake and still had the class to recover and take the tape. So Finian’s Rainbow goes as favourite at 15/8 with SportingBet in Victor Chandler Chase betting odds.
The closest challenger to Finian’s Rainbow in the Victor Chandler Chase horse racing betting is Al Ferof who is showing some pretty good form. Al Ferof, trading at 3/1 with SportingBet, has landed two wins from two over fences and is on a pretty hot streak of five wins stretching back to the start of last year. So these two should produce a fantastic battle, and the Paul Nicholls trained Al Ferof, who has a couple of years on Finian’s Rainbow, is such an exciting talent that he makes a good prospect in the race and why he is being so well backed. His last outing was a win at Sandown by a neck over For Non Stop at the start of December and was pressed hard when out in front, but showed a lot of spirit to hold out for the victory. But it is Finian’s Rainbow, with the experience and class that is looking the favourite and it is time to prove himself ahead of the Queen Mother Champion Chase. This is the time to set his stall out and the conditions at Ascot should suit him perfectly.
Forpadydeplasterer also makes for an interesting look. A year ago after Kempton he was pretty beaten up and looked as if his career had come to an end following the King George VI Chase. It has been a slow road back since them, but there are signs that he is going to hit Ascot in a decent bit of form. He has gone up against Big Zeb in his last two outings, and although he finished six lengths back of Big Zeb, he probably would have been a lot closer but for a mistake at the final just. Up until then it looked as if he had plenty of running still to go, but the landing error simply put him out of contention. Forpadydeplasterer, trading back at 14/1 with Coral, may make a decent each way shot at those odds. Other notable names in the field for the Victor Chandler Chase are Somersby and Wishfull Thinking. Neither have really been punching that hard, but Wishfull Thinking is likely to be the more dangerous after pushing Finian’s Rainbow hard at Kempton in December. Some potential there and will likely push hard for a place finish if he gets it right on the day. Somersby, no stranger to taking on the best, came in fourth behind Kauto Star in the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day last year, but did beat Saturday’s opponent Gauvain earlier in December at Huntingdon.
Victor Chandler Chase Betting Odds
Finian’s Rainbow: 15/8 at SportingBet
Al Ferof: 3/1 at SportingBet
Somersby: 6/1 at SkyBet
Wishfull Thinking: 13/2 at Paddy Power
Gauvain: 9/1 at SportingBet
Forpadydeplasterer: 14/1 at William Hill
I’m So Lucky: 33/1 at VC Bet
Oiseau De Nuit: 40/1 at VC Bet

There is a small but mighty field on show at the 32Red Hurdle (registered as the Tolworth Hurdle) on Saturday at Sandown for your horse racing betting. This is only a field of five going off in the Class 1 battle over the distance of 2 miles and 110 yards. We are really looking at four very evenly matched charges on show here, with High Storm really looking as he is just there to make up the numbers. Going off as narrow favourite is Prospect Wells, who makes his debut at Sandown. The highly respected Prospect Wells, needs to get back to winning ways, after finishing fourth (albeit just by one and half lengths) at Ascot in December in the Ladbroke Handicap Hurdle. There was just a lack of finishing pace on that occasion, but still stayed on well to take 4th in the field of sixteen. The Paul Nicholls charge is attracting the most interest in what should be a closely contested affair. Prospect Wells can be taken a market leading price of 7/4 at SkyBet at the moment and represents pretty decent value. Will be used to the weight and therefore a solid bet.
He is being pushed hard through by Colour Squadron, who is just back at 2/1 with online bookmaker Paddy Power in the 32Red Hurdle betting. Colour Squadron is a very useful looking prospect, and has landed two wins out of three starts. All three were last season with Richard Johnson in the saddle, however this will be a step up in weight for him at 11-7, but some good finishing strength shown already from the six year old, should put him good stead to contest firmly here. Tracking both of the those two is Captain Conan at 9/2 with Ladbrokes, who picked up a fantastic 15 length victory at Auteuil on his last start in France. There have been just five trips for the five year old, trained by Nicky Henderson. Captain Conan has shown signs that more maturity and stamina at the finish is going to need to be developed, but the Auteuil win shows that he can deliver. This too though, like Colour Squadron, will be a big step up in weight in the Tolworth Hurdle betting. It will be a really good test of the futures of Captain Conan and Colour Squadron here, as they look to track and match Prospect Wells at Sandown.
There will be interest on Magnifique Etoile as well, who has rattled off three back to back wins this term. There is potential here for even more to come from Magnifique Etoile and although trading back in the small field, is rated highly enough to really mount a challenge here, and therefore should really put his nose in to make it a tough four way call. Definitely riding on the outside but his odds have slowly been drifting in, and is best priced out at 8/1 with Boylesports, but is as short as 4/1 in some places. Making up the field is outsider High Storm at 33/1 with William Hill, the only entrant in the small field who has yet to win a race. Was beaten by a nose at Cheltenham back in December, but really is not expected to make too much of an impact in Red32 Hurdle betting.
As this race is being shown on Channel 4, it falls into the great Bet365 4/1 Winner Special. Back a winner in any live BBC or Channel 4 race at Bet365 at odds of 4/1 or greater, then the bookie will give you a free bet for the very next race! The free bet will be to the value of your original winning stake, and the great thing here, is that if you pick another 4/1 with your free bet, then you will get another free bet, and so on. Terrific value and it applies to all live BBC or Channel 4 races. The bookie also offers Best Odds Guaranteed and a 50p bet on this race will get you access to a live stream of the race as well to watch on your computer. Online bookmaker Bet365 offer a free £200 bet as a welcome bonus for new customers registering an account. For the Boxing Day Scoop6 Totepool, Totesport are guaranteeing a £250,000 Win and Bonus fund. The Christmas treat for the Scoop6 means that the guaranteed Win Fund will stand at £150,000, and winners there will be eligible to enter the £100,000 Bonus Fund the following Saturday. So with this great Horse Racing system from Totesport, you can be in for a big share of some earnings. Of course, the amount of payout will be determined by how many other winners there are in the particular fund. But, for the Boxing Day Scoop6, if you do land all six winners then you will at least be guaranteed a share of £150,000 with a shot at another share of £100,000 next Saturday.
The King George VI Chase goes at 3.10pm at Kempton on Boxing Day, with the renewal of the Long Run and Kauto Star rivalry, with quality added to the field with Master Minded and Captain Chris. Long Run is edging the betting at the moment priced at 5/4, with Kauto Star who recently beat Long Run, is back at 7/2. This is the feature race of Boxing Day and it does fall under the Scoop6 and the guaranteed prize fund from Totesport on December 26th.
The highly popular online bookmaker Totesport, who are respected for their horse racing betting coverage, offer a free £10 bet for new customers registering an account. The bookie will match the value of your first bet on a new account, up to the maximum value of £10, with a free bet.

The William Hill Christmas Hurdle horse racing betting, a Grade 1 race at Kempton on Boxing Day, December 26th has seen a bit of jostling for position in the odds. Heading the field for the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton, part of the King George meeting, is Binocular. The ever popular Binocular has taken a lead in the ante post betting for the race, and what was supposed to be the main challenger to stop Binocular defending his title in the race, Overturn, is now being bullied by Rock On Ruby in the market. There really is little to split all three actually in general betting across the board, with bookies unsure of who this one is going to run. The general conscensus is though that the William Hill Christmas Hurdle is going to be a three horse race. Binocular and Overturn gave us a treat back in January, in the race which was postponed from last Decemebr. Binocular was triumphant over Overturn on that occasion and the two are thrust back together for this year’s renewal of the race, the warm up to the King George VI Chase.
The Nicky Henderson trained Binocular backed up that Kempton triumph with at Sandown in February, but has fired in three missed opportunities since. The most recent marker in this duel between them, was at Newcastle on November 26th, when Overturn got the better of Binocular by nearly five lengths. What could be swinging things back to Binocular’s favour however, is that Overturn has been very busy over the last month or so, so Bincolur will be the fresher of the two horses for the 2 mile Christmas Hurdle. Overturn has pretty much been ran into the ground, running four races since the end of August, and one as recent as December 10th. However, the quality is there because he has rattled off three victories in those four races, including having Binocular totally in his pocket at Newcastle. Overturn is the better of the two horses, but trainer Donald McCain is really pushing him to his limits. Will that work against Overturn on Boxing Day? Overturn was outpaced by Grandouet at Cheltenham at the start of December in the Stan James Interntaional Hurdle, so with all things weighed up, probably is going to be on an even keel with Binocular.
Then with have the appearance of Rock On Ruby, who has the potential to put both of the above in the shadows. With a win at Newbury at the end of November, the Paul Nicholls trained charge should give a very good run here, and has attracted a lot of interest and movement in the Christmas Hurdle horse racing betting odds. I think at the end of the day, that Rock On Rubyis probably going to pose more of a threat in the race to Overturn that what Binocular is. Then, because of Overturn’s work rate, it should mean that Rock on Ruby is probably in with a very good shout and that is what punters are clearly attracted to for 2011 Christmas Hurdle betting. Bit of an unven looking field to be honest, it should be one of the big three.
2011 William Hll Christmas Hurdle Betting Odds
Binocular: 9/4 at Coral
Rock on Ruby: 9/4 at Bet365
Overturn: 5/2 at Totesport
Sanctuaire: 20/1at SkyBet
Clerks Choice: 25/1 at Ladbrokes
Olofi: 33/1 at Ladbrokes
Drill Sergeant: 33/1 at Bet365
This race is being shown on Channel 4 on Boxing Day and that means that it falls under Bet365’s 4/1 winner promotion. Back a winner at odds of 4/1 or greater, in any live televised race on either Channel 4 or the BB, and the bookie will give you a free bet. The free bet will be to the value of your winning stake, and it will be used on the next race. If your free bet wins a selection at 4/1 or greater, then the bookie will hand you out another free bet. You can keep going like these, racking up the free bets as long as you keep picking out 4/1 winners or greater on live televised races at the BCC or C4. Synchronised will go off as favourite for the Welsh National horse racing betting on December 27th at Chepstow. The defending Welsh National champion was spared from top weight in the race, just by 1lb though, with the top weight instead going to Hey Big Spender. Synchronised will set off on the quest to win back to back Welsh Nationals, and if achieved, will become the first ever horse to win the same race in the same season. Punters will probably remember, like the King George VI Chase, the Welsh National was held over last year to be ran at the start of this year, and it was Synchronised who put on a show of force over the three mile, five and a half furlong, Grade 3 race. While Synchronised is favouring the betting, the general feel is that he really hasn’t been targeted for this, and that a run at the Lexus is going to be more to his favour. So that means, while Synchronised is generally trading at around 6/1 in 2011 Welsh National betting, there are some good options behind him.
Because of the heavier weight burden, Hey Big Spender is really drifting in the odds, but is going to be well worth a an each way shot we feel in Welsh National horse racing betting. It really hasn’t seem to distract him from winning by carrying top weight in races before, and is a proven handicap winner. There is a lot of endurance and power in Hey Big Spender, and trainer Colin Tizzard is really talking up the horse’s chances despite what the bookies are making of his charge. The long race should be ideal for Hey Big Spender, who should have the ability to outlast a lot of the field. Tizzard believes that the Welsh National has always been a perfect target for Hey Big Spender, who ran very well at Newcastle at the end of November, taking a top weight win there.
Carruthers is reportedly in very good shape as well, and the Hennessey Gold Cup Chase (handicap) Grade 3 winner back at the end of November, who beat out Planet of Sound has to be worth considering as well. Word is from the stables, that he is in even better shape that before the successful trip to Newbury. Giles Cross is second favourite in the Welsh National Ante Post horse racing betting at the moment. Trained by Victor Dartnall, Giles Cross ran a good race at Chepstow at the start of the year in the previous renewal of the Welsh National, coming in second to Synchronised on that occasions, but a good run at Fontwell in mid November will have raised his stock for another crack at the Welsh National.
The field looks pretty competitive for the 2011 Welsh National betting, with interest heading towards the likes of Galaxy Rock, Viking Blond and Le Beau Bai. It all adds up to some fantastic ante post prices around at the moment to pay heed to. Hey Big Spender is hard to look past at the moment, because that is tremendous value right out there for him to at least place. Well worth looking at. It we were going to pick out a winner here, then our Welsh National betting tip would be on Carruthers after his Hennessey efforts.
2011 Welsh National Betting Odds
Synchronised: 7/1 at Ladbrokes
Giles Cross: 8/1 at Bet365
Carruthers: 10/1 at SkyBet
Galaxy Rock: 11/1 at Boylesports
Viking Blond: 12/1 at Ladbrokes
Le Beau Bai: 14/1 at Bet365
As De Fer: 14/1 at Ladbrokes
Cappa Bleu: 16/1 at Stan James
Hey Big Spender: 16/1 at Victor Chandler

We have eight standing entries for the King George VI Chase betting on Boxing Day. The famous race at Kempton, going off at 3.10 on December 26th, features a stellar cast, headlined by Kauto Star as the horse racing legend goes for an unprecedented fifth King George title. Kauto Star was edged out last year in the race, with young upstart Long Run taking the honours. But after a fantastic showing at the Betfair Chase at Haydock last month, where Kauto Star demolished Long Run by eight lengths to win, there has been much more renewed interest in him for the big feature of Boxing Day. His odds have been slowly getting cut all week, and now only going off against seven rivals, they have been cut even more. So if you are thinking of having a Kauto Star King George VI Chase bet, then you will want to get it on early because come the start, there is every chance he could be even shorter, probably below 2/1 according to bookmaker Coral. The way Kauto Star ran and jumped at the BetFair Chase really silenced critics that the eleven year old was past it. It was a majestic ride with Ruby Walsh in the saddle, and while that remains Kauto Star’s only win of 2011, he is being hotly fancied to take down Long Run again on Boxing Day.
So it will be interesting in your King George VI Chase horse racing betting, to see what response Long Run has to the heavy defeat by Kauto Star. That defeat broke Long Run’s undefeated 2011, but will no doubt be back and keen to impress at the race which won him so many plaudits last season. The King George VI was held back from Boxing Day last year and actually ran in mid January, and Long Run will be looking for a repeat performance, which saw him run home twelve lengths clear of nearest challenger Riverside Theatre, with Kauto Star flailing another seven lengths back again. That was the race that really marked Long Run’s arrival, and now the six year old is trading as firm favourite for this year’s renewal, even though the pressure seems to be mounting from Kauto Star. One way or the other we really should be in for a thrilling race, and not only because of the two main protagonists, there is a fanatically deep field for this highly competitive race.
Champion trainer Paul Nicholls also has Clive Smith’s Master Minded in the race as well, launching a double attack on the race. Master Minded ran a comfortable victory out at Ascot in November, in the Amlin 1965 Chase, albeit a Grade 2 race. He was the class act in the field, but still ran a solid race, looking as if he is getting primed for a shot at the King George VI Chase. Would anticipate him going very close in the race on Boxing Day, because think that he can track just as well as Kauto Star can, especially if the pace is getting pulled along. There may be a small question over Master Minded at this distance, as he has been great over two and a half miles and is still working at the longer distance. Still, the younger Master Minded can easily give Kauto Star a tough run here and should be evenly matched. Really think that there is a big race to come from Master Minded and for value in the race is going to be our big tip for King George VI Chase horse racing betting.
The much lauded Diamond Harry should make an interesting prospect, but he faded badly in the Betfair Chase in November, finishing 18 lengths back of winner Kauto Star. Was expecting a lot more from him, but just could not keep up the pace and distance at all. Thought that he was going to push on there, but didn’t and found himself outclassed. Still, a very good eight year old, bristling with potential, but just needs to pace himself and get everything right to be in with a shot in the home straight. With Planet of Sound one of the withdrawals from the race, Captain Chris remains Philip Hobbs’ only entrant in the Christmas cracker. The youngster has been running very well this year, with plenty of wins under his belt in a busy 2011. His last outing was at Exeter at the start of November, where he unseated rider Richard Johnson after running a very unconvincing race. Never looked settled, which was unusual and always seemed to be trying to catch up with his jumping and with his outright pace. Again, in the same boat as Diamond Harry really. The potential is there, but is the big race pedigree there to take on the main three pronged assault of Long Run, Kauto Star and Master Minded? Will most likely be some value in a place finish for him.
King George VI Chase Betting Odds
Long Run: 11/8 at SportingBet
Kauto Star: 4/1 at Ladbrokes
Master Minded: 11/2 at Bet365
Captain Chris: 8/1 at Ladbrokes
Somersby: 14/1 at Totesport
Diamond Harry: 16/1 at BetFred
Golan Way: 66/1 at Bet365
Nacarat: 66/1 at SportingBet

Quantativeeasing is firmly installed as the favourite for Saturday’s big December Gold Cup betting at Cheltenham. The big story here is that Nicky Henderson is still looking for his first major Saturday winner of the season. There is nothing wrong with the form that he is delivering, with a strike rate of over 33% over his last 100 runners, the trainer just hasn‘t been land a major prize on a Saturday. However, his fortunes could all turn around this weekend though, as Quantativeeasing is strong front runner for the December Gold Cup which has a £100,000 prize purse riding on it. Quantativeeasing, owned by JP McManus was second in his last outing by Great Endeavour at the Paddy Power Gold Cup last month, but Great Endeavour’s form has dipped and so Quantativeeasing should be able to take centre stage at Cheltenham on Saturday. At the Paddy Power Gold Cup, Quantativeeasing actually ran a very, very good race and throw in to the mix that Poquelin was withdrawn from Saturday’s December Gold Cup, then everything should be pretty peachy in the west country for Quantativeeasing. Quantativeeasing will take nine pounds with him on Saturday, which is just one pound more than when he ran in the Paddy Power Gold Cup. So more definite good signs that he is going to run a very good race here.
But David Pipe hasn’t exactly been enthusing about Great Endeavour this week, admitting that the preparation of his horse hasn’t been great, and expecting his charge to cope more than challenge. After winning the Paddy Power Gold Cup, Great Endeavour could only manage a fourth place at the Hennessey a fortnight ago. That is why we are seeing him trading back behind Quantativeeasing in the Spinal Research The Atlantic 4 Gold Cup on Saturday. Havingotascoobydo has been attracting a lot of interest this week, and was out at around 20/1 in some ante post prices and is now as short as 12/1 in most places. This is because of the decent run which the novice put in at Cheltenham back in November, although he will be carrying an extra five pounds from that race.
Quel Esprit is quietly trading along as well, as is the pick of the Irish Challengers in December Gold Cup betting. There is a slight question mark over his jumping technique, but if he pulls it all together, the should definitely challenge for a place finish or even better. Well worth an outside bet in the big race. Ghizao goes with Ruby Walsh in the saddle, but is running in his first handicap race, and Divers has shown potential enough to make a challenge, but unlikely to go so well taken out of the comfort zone of his preferred good going. The going could be a bit soft on Saturday at Cheltenham, but Divers won the Centenary Novices Handicap Chase at Prestbury Park, and could spring a surprise is the conditions are right.
Spinal Research The Atlantic 4 Gold Cup Betting Odds
Quantativeeasing: 7/1 at Bet365
Ghizao: 8/1 at Victor Chandler
Great Endeavour: 9/1 at Paddy Power
Divers: 9/1 at Totesport
Quel Esprit: 10/1 at SkyBet
Havingotascoobydo: 12/1 at Bet365
Sunnyhillboy: 12/1 at Totesport
Medermit: 14/1 at Bet365
Roudoudou Ville: 16/1 at Paddy Power

The 3.05 at Sandown on Saturday is peaking some interest, with Kauto Star’s half brother Kauto Stone running in contention in the Tingle Creek Chase over two miles. The Paul Nicholl’s trained horse would bring the trainer a seventh consecutive Tingle Creek title if he comes in first, and Kauto Stone’s odds have been cut drastically with Ruby Walsh now taking the mount. Walsh was pencilled in to take the ride of Tataniano, Nicholl’s other entry into the race. However, Tataniano was ruled out through injury on Friday, an injury which will keep him out for the rest of the season. The race has already lost Nicky Henderson’s Finians Rainbow and now Tataniano’s absence from the race, has naturally prompted a shake up in the betting odds. It means that the favourite Sizing Europe has been cut down to shorter odds, but the biggest movement has been behind him in the market. Kauto Stone, now with Ruby Walsh in the saddle has drawn level with Wishfull Thinking as second favourite for the 3.05 at Sandown on Saturday.
So Sizing Europe goes off as favourite in the race, and the two mile champion chaser looks in good shape for the race. Sizing Europe landed the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival earlier in the year, and has had a pretty consistent year, with a win at the PricewaterhouseCoopers Champion Chase in October. His most recent outing was in the JNwine Champion Chase where he trailed home just over a length behind Quito De La Roque in second place there after a couple of mistakes during the race. Kauto Stone heads into the race on the back of a win in the Ladbrokes.com Chase at the start of November, where he romped home to a pretty easy win by six and a half lengths. He was in fine fetter around the end of the year last year, and should be able to put in a very good contest here. Kauto Stone is jumping well and should have the pace and is pretty solid on soft ground. His win at Down Royal last month really has set up him as a very good prospect here, and he is a Grade I winner.
Wishfull Thinking is going to take an interesting look as well we imagine. The gelding has had breathing issues, highlighted with a poor effort at the Paddy Power Chase recently, but if you can push that to one side, then Wishfull Thinking, out of all the front runners for the Tingle Creek Chase is best suited for the race. He will like a fast pace over the two miles and his chances will have been enhanced with Tataniano’s withdrawal. A very strong, confident runner from the front and will drag the pace along quickly. So those are the main contenders for your Tingle Creek horse racing betting on Saturday. You can talk about of unpredictability from Kauto Stone, but if the unpredictability of Wishfull Thinking’s breathing ahs really been sorted out, then that is the dark horse which is really worth a punt on the nose. The fact that he is trading equal alongside Kauto Stone say s a lot. The bullish form of Sizing Europe looks to be the big genuine chance though and he will be the one to beat.

It is the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury this weekend, following on from the great thrills in the Betfair Chase last weekend at Haydock, in which we saw a resurgent Kauto Star roll back the years to beat young prodigy Long Run. The main front runner here in Hennessy Gold Cup betting is Aiteen Thirtythree for the handicap race. Ruby Walsh will be in the saddle, which should help, but for such a strong front runner in the ante post betting, he doesn’t look the strongest bet in the field. His form hasn’t really been all that great, and he ran in second to Somersby at Kempton at the end of October and the bets going down on him at the moment are borne out of potential and being held in such high regard. There is promise of better things to come, but following his pulling up at Cheltenham earlier in the year as well, he needs to land the kind of form which put him in good stead around this time last year. Has only struck home first from nine runs and that is not the kind of form really which should spark such a strong following of him. The course and distance should suit Aiteen Thirtythree no problems there, but the second season chaser is beatable when you scan down the card. Still, that hasn’t stopped him being one of the most active movers in 2011 Hennessy Gold Cup betting and so we will cast our horse racing betting eye over who may be able to usurp the favourite.
We can take a serious look at Michel Le Bon, stable mate to Aiteen Thirtythree. The only thing holding a little doubt for Michel Le Bon is that we haven’t seen him out on the track for about two years now, but that is what makes him such an interesting, unknown prospect. He will be running at an ideal weight for trainer Paul Nicholls and is just worth a bet because there is potential for a truly remarkable comeback to action and would consider a little flutter. Great Endeavour is also attracting decent interest in the Ante Post Hennessy Gold Cup betting, after a sparkling performance at Prestbury Park a couple of weeks ago when he landed the Paddy Power Gold Cup. Definitely in good form as long as he isn’t hindered too much in the handicap. Trading well though and should be able to put in a good challenge at the front. Scottish Grand National winner Beshabar is trading decently, and looks to be getting better and better with each race. Not sure about his full credentials here to take this, as looks as if he may need a few more races under his belt first. Could be well handicapped though, even with his success in Scotland and is a bold jumper. Not sure where to fit Wymott in to all of this, but picked up a win at Haydock at the beginning of the month. Could be all about how good a start he gets, because he likes to set a strong pace from the start.
Wayward Prince though is going to be our tip for the 2011 Hennessy Gold Cup because he just fit’s the race so week. The novice chaser in his second season has won at Grade One before and could really come from deep in the field to take this wide open race. Has had his problems in not being able to recover too quickly after race, and has been rested all summer ahead of this one. Wayward Prince has specifically been targeted for the Hennessy Gold Cup since last season and has superb stamina in softer conditions. There could be rain around at Newbury, so that will play into his hands, but he also have the pace to stay the track in a fast paced race, more so than some of the other front runners. In what is not the strongest field for a Hennessy renewal, Wayward Prince just fits the bill and is superb value.
