On this page you find articles on live in play betting and sports betting in general.

Ladbrokes

Online bookmaker Ladbrokes have reported a big increase in the number of bets coming in through mobile phones and tablets. The amount of activity coming in from mobile punters on the Ladbrokes sports book are now accounting for around 20% of Ladbrokes’ online bets taken. This has been a good 5% increase of mobile betting over the last twelve months or so. This has been extra good news for Ladbrokes, because it has lead to an increase in profits for the bookie.

The revenue alone coming from Ladbrokes online sports (including through mobile devices) was driven up 22% from the start of the year to March. So Ladbrokes are a company definitely heading in the right direction, with a very healthy double digit growth in stakes, all culminating in almost a 6% rise in digital revenue. So the amount of investment and forward thinking that Ladbrokes have put into keeping themselves at the head of 21st century technology is paying them back.

According to Ladbrokes, who are the UK’s second largest bookmaker, they offer more football in a week to bet on than their closest competitors. Ladbrokes offer up over 800 football games a week, something which the company seems very proud of. But there is still more to come from Ladbrokes as well, because May will see the launch of a new Ladbrokes website as well.

So customers of online bookmaker Ladbrokes will have a new interface to work with. It is being tested by users at the moment, and it has been designed to improve the operation and quality of the punter’s betting experience on there. There has been another positive shift in Ladbrokes from their In-Play betting services, and the bookie has reported that 57% of sportsbook amount have come through live in play wagers. This is an increase from the 2011 financial year of around 8%, so the popular of Ladbrokes and live-in play betting is still showing a lot of promising growth.

Wednesday, August 10th sees a lot of European nations involved in international friendly matches. Yes, much has been made about the poor timing of these matches, with European domestic seasons just starting, but nonetheless, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales are all in action next week. England face a tough match at Wembley against the Netherlands, while Ireland host Croatia. Scotland stay at home as well as Denmark comes over for a visit, while Wales entertain the Socceroos of Australia the same night. Quite what any of the managers are going to get out of these international friendly matches is any ones guess. Most players are just going to be getting back to full match sharpness, but there are a clutch of Euro 2012 qualification matches coming up at the beginning of September, so with the busy domestic schedules in August, these matches are geared to get some international football under belts ahead of important competitive matches then. There are actually some really good matches on the cards, with Germany v Brazil a highlight and France v Chile looking very interesting.

Online bookmaker Bet365 are once again bringing you some of the many friendly matches booked on that day, to your home, by providing live streams. The online bookmaker, well known and highly recommended for their delivery of live sports streams are once again treating their customers to a live football frenzy. This Bore Draw offers runs for all football matches found on Bet365 and applies to pre match bets only. There is also the 100% Soccer Accumulator bonus to be taken on European Soccer Accumulators, which lets you build your big bet from European Leagues including matches from the Champions League. If you land a 4 fold accumulator for example, you will get a 5% win bonus on top of your winnings. The bigger the accumulator your land, the bigger the bonus percentage you will receive on top from Bet365. The highly popular online bookmaker also offers unlimited places on First Scorer Each Way bets. Betting Advice

Wimbledon tennis live in play betting tips and strategies are worth looking at ahead of your tennis betting for this year’s action at SW19. There is always added excitement to be found in doing live in play betting for sports, and tennis is no exception. There are some tips and tricks to look out for when betting live on tennis though, to help you try and maximise your return. We take a look at highly popular online bookmaker Bet365 for this, as they run a great Live In Play betting service, combined with some fantastic live sports streaming which works so well with live betting. With Wimbledon 2011 right here, your tennis betting over the fortnight from SW19 can be accentuated by live in play tennis betting. When you go into a match in progress, new windows of betting opportunities open up to you, and these are ways to increase your profits. First market which you want to to look at is the Next Game winner. This is always a great market and there are some general trends which you will want to follow. Essentially you are looking for breaks in play and more often than not, these happen in the middle of sets. One particular score line in a set which I usually look for, is 5-3. At this point the losing player has nothing to lose, especially if they are facing a serve. This is always a great time to pick up profit by backing the losing player here. This is the portion of the set where momentum shifts will happen, and is a good online tennis betting tip to bear in mind for Wimbledon. If the gap in the games is any wider for a set, say 5-2, 4-1 or something like that, it is less likely that the losing player is going to pull something out, because that player will really be gathering themselves for the next set.

It is of course worth looking at a top seed to break the first service game of an underdog. Top seeds generally like to stamp their authority on matches and like to step in with aggression a little bit more. Personally I find more value in taking the better player to break in their opponents second service game because they will have gotten a taste of what the opponent is going to do. Live betting on Next Game winners in tennis can get pretty exciting, but always stay in control and not get over excited. Stick to your betting budget and plan your strategies. Tennis betting is rarely over in a flash. Next Set betting generally sees the underdog come out of the blocks the quickest. Underdogs going against top seeds have their best chance in the opening set, while they are fresh and can catch the better player cold before they get into their stride. Always worth taking a chance on the outsider in the first set. You don’t often see Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal going two sets up and then dropping the third. However, when two top seeds meet, there is more parity going on, and if a player falls two sets behind, then it is worth backing that player to win the next set. There is usually a momentum swing at this point, just as in the final of the recent French Open final, when Federer clawed his way back into the match by winning the third set after being two down against Nadal. The live tennis betting markets do go deeper for live tennis betting, but those are just a couple of basic live in play tennis betting tips to get your started with as Wimbledon hits for the next fortnight. As a recommendation, check out Bet365 for their live in play betting coverage, as it really is excellent. The highly rated bookmaker also offers a free £200 bet for new customers registering an account with them.

Andy Murray will look to shoot himself into his second consecutive Australian Open final shortly, as he takes on surprise semi finalist David Ferrer. The semi final in this half of the draw was expected to be a showdown between world number one Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray of course, but David Ferrer got the better of his fellow countryman Nadal in the Quarter Finals, after Nadal picked up an injury in the second game of the match. Following that, Nadal could barely move, but soldiered on, but it was essentially a walkover by Ferrer. So the dreams of the Rafa Slam is over, and even more surprisingly is the fact that Roger Federer won’t be in the final either. Federer was ousted in straight sets in the first of the men’s semi finals by world number three Novak Djokovic. So no Nadal, and no Federer. The two men who really were standing in the way of Andy Murray and him achieving his first Grand Slam title of his career. Murray was also helped along the way, by the early exit of number four seed Robin Soderling, who Murray was on course to meet in the quarter finals. Soderling’s exit, put Murray against Alexandr Dolgopolov, who, the Scot saw off, not without his struggles. That was arguably Murray’s poorest match of the tournament so far, and hopefully it was the one which he managed to get away with.

No Federer and no Nadal at the Australian Open, has now really left the British tennis fans wondering if this really is the year. There is work to be done though in the wee hours of Friday morning, as Ferrer holds a 3-2 head to head record over Murray. The Spaniard beat Murray twice last year, both times at ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournaments (second in tournament importance to the Grand Slams), both matches without Murray picking up a single set. There was a big factor in those matches though, and that was, they were both on clay, Andy Murray’s least favourite surface. When the two met on the hard court in the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London, Murray dominated the match 6-2 6-2, so if you are heading about this head to head record which Ferrer holds over Murray, be informed that all three of Ferrer’s victories over Murray have been on clay. The two victories by Murray were both on hard court, which really puts the ball back in the court of the world number five. Murray is strong on the surface, and has looked strong this tournament. We all know just what an incredible defensive player he is, but he has clearly been working on more offensive weapons, notably a whipping forehand with pace. It has been the one area which has been lacking in his game, that cut throat ruthless big shot, that big match winner when the game is on the line. It has been working well, there is more of an attacking, aggressive edge to Murray in this Australian Open. He did fall back into his cautious and defensive mode in patches during the quarter final against Dolgopolov, but he still had plenty in the tank to come through. He looks mentally tougher.

As for Ferrer, he can pretty much be compared to Na Li, who reached the final of the women’s Australian Open. Ferrer is awesome on clay, and that is his speciality. Has started the season well though, already winning a title in Auckland, while Andy Murray was still thinking about warming up for the Australian Open. Ferrer hasn’t lost a match this season, but still he will not be favourite for the match. He is a thorough professional, world number seven, and does a great job of hanging around and digging in. There is no particular big shot from him, no favourite area of the court to attack, he just sort of plays percentages. He gets the ball back, keeping points alive and can grind out results against the best. So is Murray mentally tough enough? Although the younger man on the court, he is the more experienced player when it comes to latter stages of the Grand Slam. This is Murray’s fifth appearance in a Grand Slam final, whereas Ferrer is making just his second appearance. That could be a major factor, and on the hard court, where Murray is most comfortable, the Scot’s defensive skills will play a big factor also. Murray has been serving well, and being one of, if not the best returner of serve in the men’s game, it is a threat which he can take out of Ferrer’s game, as the Spaniard looks for his first ever Grand Slam final appearance. This is pressure time for both men, and a great chance to head to the final of a Grand Slam without having to face Nadal or Federer there.

Maybe this is the moment Andy Murray has been waiting for.
It is hard to see him getting a more wide open chance of winning a Grand Slam than this one. Having won the last three head to head games against Novak Djokovic, who is awaiting the winner of this match in the final, Murray has to be a strong contender. But first things first, Murray needs to hold his nerve, hold his composure, hold his mental toughness together and get past David Ferrer. Realistically he should do it, and the bookies are weighing heavily on him to win the match, judging by the odds.

Andy Murray to win: 2/7 at Boylesports
David Ferrer to win: 7/2 at Bet365

British tennis hopes once again rest on the broad shoulders of Andy Murray, who has been looking quite cheerful and relaxed through the tournament, especially in interviews. Anyway, if you are up in the early morning to watch the action from Melbourne, then why not dip into live in play betting to enjoy the action even more. This is the perfect opportunity to dig a little deeper and serve up some bets as the action is on going. One of the most highly recommended places to do this, would be at Unibet, who run a fantastic live in play betting service. Tennis is suited for this online bookmaking feature perfectly. Not only that, Unibet have live streams from the Australian Open tennis, so you can do your betting and watching all in one place. Just open an account and get some funds in there, and head over to their excellent live betting portal. Has Andy Murray’s Grand Slam time arrived? Yours may have, as when you open an account with Unibet, there is a risk free £20 bet waiting for you. If your first bet on a new Unibet account loses, then the bookie will refund your lost stake up to the value of £20 on that initial bet. Andy Murray is 13/8 at Unibet to win the Australian Open.
