Spurs’ Welsh winger wonder boy Gareth Bale is the star attraction of online bookmaker Paddy Power’s promotion for Liverpool v Spurs Premier League betting. The popular bookie has rolled out a Money Back Special for Monday night’s big match, and if it is half as entertaining as the Chelsea v Man Utd 3-3 draw, then you will be in for your money’s worth. Gareth Bale netted a brace for Spurs to see off Wigan in the Premier League in their last match. Third placed Spurs, who saw Manchester United drop a couple of points, will recognize the big opportunity to close the gap and keep themselves fully in the title hunt. Bale has just been part of the huge success that Spurs have enjoyed this season, and has netted in his last two Premier League matches.

If the Welsh wonder Bale scores at ANYTIME in the match against Liverpool on Monday night, Paddy Power will refund losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Score cast single bets placed on the match prior to kick off. That is some fantastic coverage if you are looking at those markets. Especially with Bale being in good form at the moment. Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, who returns after his eight match ban is favourite at 5/1 in the First Goalscorer market, and a 1-0 Liverpool win in the Correct Score market is trading at 6/1. These bets and more can be taken with the Paddy Power Liverpool v Spurs Money Back special, where losing bets on the selected markets will be refunded if Gareth Bale scores in the match.

Online bookmaker Paddy Power offer a free £50 bet for new customers registering an account. The bookie will match the value of your first stake on a new account with a free bet, up to the maximum value of £50. A great way to get started with the highly rated bookie, some free betting cash to enjoy!

Assou Ekotto (Tottenham) - Anderson (Man United)

Tottenham v Wigan Premier League betting will get the focus back onto the pitch for Spurs. Boss Harry Redknapp is involved in a court case at the moment, so there is that distraction. So too was the defeat which they suffered in their last outing, so Spurs, who slipped up there against leaders Manchester City, need a big bounce back performance. Spurs had been flying high prior to that outing, going on a long unbeaten stretch. However, they were undone in controversial circumstances when City’s Mario Balotelli remained on the pitch to score the winner from the penalty spot, when Spurs wanted him sent off for allegedly stamping on Scott Parker’s head. This is the kind of fixture where Spurs need to show their grit and steel and although on paper, a home tie against Wigan looks a banker, Tottenham still have to deliver and not take their foot off the gas. After losing crucial ground on Manchester City, Spurs remain in third place, but now eight points back of the leaders, so all the Londoners can do now, is keep picking up three points and wait for the Manchester clubs to slip up. Spurs did run out winners against Watford in the FA Cup on Friday night, but they picked up some injury problems, with Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon looking unlikely to make the match on Tuesday night. Spurs will of course remember the shock result in this corresponding fixture from last season, when the Latics showed up at White Hart Lane and stole a 1-0 victory. No-one saw that coming then, and that is just the kind of surprise that Harry Redknapp’s men need to avoid if they are going to hang in contention for the league title. The London side naturally go as favourites in Tottenham v Wigan Premier League betting as they look to get back to wining ways in the Premier League. Even half of that nine goal mauling they handed out in this fixture two seasons ago would do nicely.

As for Wigan, well it is all struggles and woe at the moment, as the Latics have fallen to the bottom of the pile. After holding Chelsea and Liverpool to draws at home in back to back games, a mini revival looked on the cards for Roberto Martinez’s men, but that has all come unravelled as they have lost their last three matches straight now. That extends to a run of seven league matches without a win for Wigan now and with their lowly goal tallies, it is tough to see where the points are going to come from. However, out of Wigan’s only three victories this season in the Premier League, two of them have come away from home. This is just the sort of match in which upsets do occur and at least for the team talk, Roberto Martinez can remind him of Hugo Rodallego’s winning goal at White Hart Lane last season against the odds. He can also point to the fact that Spurs haven’t scored against the Latics in the last two meetings, so while Wigan are struggling both at the back and the front on the pitch, can they show up and throw another major spanner in the title works of Spurs? They will be buoyed by the arrival of midfielder Jean Beausejour who could give them a bit of thrust in the middle of the park and they will lean heavily on Hugo Rodallego again, who has netted two goals in his last three league matches. Yes, the odds are totally stacked against the visitors getting anything out of this Tottenham v Wigan betting, but they got the better of Spurs last season, can they come in fresh, after not having played on the weekend and battle their way to a precious point? The Latics are in serious danger of getting left behind and the foot of the table and they need to show some fight.

There are some good football betting selections to look ahead to in another action packed weekend of Premier League fixtures. The highlight of the weekend is going to be Manchester United’s trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal. The Red Devils gunned down a woeful Gunners 8-2 at Old Trafford earlier in the season, but with Thierry Henry back in an Arsenal shirt, will Arsenal be able to get some revenge? The Red Devils title rivals Manchester City are at home on Sunday in their big fixture against the high flying Tottenham Hotspur, so it is going to superb Sunday of top quality action in the Premier League. City hold a three point ascendancy at the top of the league at the moment going into the weekend’s action, so there are massive games to come. Online bookmaker SkyBet have raised one of their great What If? Betting questions about the two matches.

What If Both Manchester Clubs Win By Two Goals Or More?
If you think that they will, then there is a wonderful price of 14/1 to be snapped up. Need to put some stock in this bet happening? Well, Manchester City trounced Tottenham 5-1 at White Hart Lane earlier in the season, while Man Utd of course ran rampant in a 8-2 victory over Arsenal at the start of the season.

There is plenty of other Premier League betting options to get your betting teeth into as well this weekend, and popular bookie SkyBet are looking at some of the home teams and wondering…

What If…Home Is Where The Heart Is?
What this means is that home sides Everton, QPR, Stoke and Sunderland all notch up wins on Saturday in the Premier League, then there is a nice price of 10/1 to be taken with the bookie. Struggling QPR could sure use a win at home over bottom side Wigan, while Everton will fancy their chances at Goodison Park against Blackburn Rovers. The improving Sunderland need a bounce back victory over Swansea after suffering defeat at Stamford Bridge last weekend. Then the high flying Stoke City, up in eighth place and challenging for the top six, will have strong home backing as they face the sliding West Brom. So can all four home sides win? There is a good enhanced price at SkyBet if you think that they will.

The SkyBet What If? Market is a great little option to look at with SkyBet, because there are fun little selections popping up extra week. In there you can get enhanced prices on the market selection that SkyBet present and is worth dipping in to in order to try and pick up a little extra bonus profit. The highly popular online bookmaker SkyBet offer a free £10 bet for new customers registering an account. This is a great welcome bonus offer from the bookie, as they offer the £10 bet completely free. All that you need to do is to register an account as a new customer with online bookmaker SkyBet, and the bookie will automatically credit your new account with a free £10 bet. It is that easy and straightforward to get your free bet!

Premier League Betting

Tottenham v Wolves betting looks as if it could be a one sided affair with the way things are going. Spurs capitalised on their game in hand over Manchester United and Manchester City in the week, firing off a comfortable home win over Everton, which drew Spurs level on points in second place with United, just three back of leaders City. Now with another home fixture to come on the weekend, against struggling Wolves, will Spurs be able to keep up the pressure at the top? Spurs really need to pick up all three points here and take everything available until they start a very tough sequence of matches starting at the end of January in which they have to face Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool in a short period of time. That is the big period which will likely ultimately decide whether or not they have the staying power in the title race. But the fluidity, confidence and style that Spurs are playing with at the moment, they look a strong bet to take another three points. Spurs have a solid defensive outset to their game play now, and that added bit of grit and fight has added the attacking flair they are able to produce. Having the big target of Emmanuel Adebayor up front, a great pick up by boss Harry Redknapp, has paid dividends for Spurs, as he has added an extra dimension to their attack. So Spurs have fired off eight wins, one draw and one defeat at home this season, and haven’t lost in nine. They have managed to find the perfect combination of defence and attack, and they scored in each of their home games this season at a rate of two per game, and they are conceding on average, less than one a game. So very strong stats to back up a home win again for Spurs as they are on such a rich vein of form. They way they took advantage of their game in hand against Everton in the week, showed a lot of determination to prove that they are genuine title contenders. With 60% of their matches at White Hart Lane having produced clean sheets in the Premier League this season, is there going to be any way through for Wolves? Is another valuable three points going to be added to Tottenham’s total as they push upwards and the belief of something big happening gets stronger and stronger.

Wolves need some of what Spurs are doing as the Midlands club are floundering badly. Mick McCarthy has yet again, another fight on his hands to keep Wolves in England’s top flight. After failing to pick up a win in their last six league matches, it isn’t looking too bright for them. There has been just four wins for Wolves this season in total and just one of them have been on the road. There have been six defeats out of ten road trips, so Wolves are clearly in trouble, as they just can’t stop conceding goals. They have earned themselves three draws out of their last six league matches, the most surprising at the Emirates against Arsenal, and while they battle away and work hard for points, it always seems an uphill struggle for them. Heading to White Hart Lane to face one of the most in form and impressive teams of the season, isn’t the type of fixture Wolves need right now. After scoring just eight away goals all season, but conceding nineteen, if the flood gates open at White Hart Lane, then Wolves are going to be sucked deeper into the relegation battle. They are only a point clear of the drop zone at it is, and with struggling to find wins, the only thing keeping them afloat really is the worse form of the likes of QPR and Wigan, which is handing them a lifeline. Wolves conceded a limp 2-0 defeat at home against Spurs earlier in the season, right back in September, and in last season’s corresponding fixture, Spurs ran out comfortable 3-1 winners. It is hard seeing Wolves take three points away from home against one of the Premier League’s elite teams right now and therefore that is why the bookies are putting Wolves back at long odds in Tottenham v Wolves betting. Anything other than a home win in this fixture will be something of a turn up for the books. Tottenham know what is ahead, and yes, while Wolves are fighting for their Premier League survival, there really is no substitute for class at the end of the day.

Spurs v Wolves Betting
Tottenham to win: 1/4 at Bet365
Draw: 5/1 at Victor Chandler
Wolves to win: 12/1 at Bet365

This is all expected to go one way, as clearly illustrated by the odds above. Spurs are expected to be amongst the gaols, and that makes Victor Chandler’s VC Double Up promotion a worthwhile look. If you select a winning First Goalscorer bet in Spurs v Wolves betting, and that same player then goes on to score a second at any time during the match, then VC Bet will generously pay you out at double your original First Goalscorer odds. So well worth looking at. In the First Goalscorer market for Spurs v Wolves betting we have Jermain Defoe at 15/4 favourite, with Emmanuel Adebayor at 16/5 and Gareth Bale down at 19/4. So imagine jumping on these odds but doubled. The highly rated online bookmaker Victor Chandler offer a free £25 bet for new customers registering an account. The bookie will match the value of  your first stake on a new account with a free bet, up to the maximum value of £25, giving you some great free betting cash to enjoy.

Spurs will be fired up to continue their impressive run of form, as they look to play their way into the top four in the Premier League, and Paddy Power have a great promotion running for their visit to Fulham. Tottenham are arguably the best side in London at the moment, and they look to be the most solid, accomplished side out of the big guns from the Capital. They seem to have a little bit of an advantage in style and cohesion over Arsenal and Chelsea, and so it will be an interesting test for them, as they head across the city to Craven Cottage to face Fulham.  Spurs are on a run of seven unbeaten matches, with six wins in that period. They roll in on the back of a comfortable 3-1 home win over QPR last weekend, but they have just arrived back from a long Thursday night match in Russia. They lost that Europa League match 1-0, but they have a much bigger priority on the Premier League. We have seen some wonderful, flowing football from Spurs, with Rafael van der Vaart top scoring with six goals, but there has been a great all round effort with Jermain Defoe, Gareth Bale and Emmanuel Adebayor all weighing in with three. It is important for Spurs to keep on picking up points, after opening the season with back to back defeats against the two Manchester Clubs. Fulham have had their problems this season, picking up just two wins in this year’s campaign so far. Marin Jol’s men have found life hard, and their good play has not been rewarded. They need to find a way to stick more goals in the back of the net, because they are still a pretty handy defensive unit. Fulham won big at Craven Cottage in the Europa League on Thursday, and that will have given them a bit more confidence. Fulham are a neat footballing side and therefore it should be quite a high quality game against Spurs. Fulham will know that they are not too far away from the relegation zone and need to build up a good run of form, and after winning away at Wigan last weekend, they could be heading in the right direction. But a visit from Tottenham will certainly be a tough test for them.

Popular online bookmaker Paddy Power have a great football betting promotion running for the London derby on Sunday. If Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart scores the final goal of the match, then Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles which have been placed on the match. This means that you can pick up some coverage on your sub markets for Fulham v Spurs betting this weekend. You can go and look in the First Goalscorer Market where there are good options like Adebayor at 11/2, and Van der Vaart and Jermain Defoe at 6/1. In the Fulham v Spurs Correct Score market, also covered by the Paddy Power promotion of course, a 1-0 win for Spurs fetches 7/1. So there is great value to be found in these markets!

The highly rated online bookmaker Paddy Power, who are famed for their great money back specials, offer a free £50 bet as a welcome bonus for new customers registering an account. The bookie will match the value of your first bet on a new account as a free bet, up to the maximum value of £50. This gives the opportunity for some great free betting cash to work with, and is a great way to boost your football betting with the chance at some free profit!

It is another weekend of Premier League betting before we take an international break, and there is a great betting special happening at VC Bet. Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City are still looking as if they really mean title business this season, as the top the league by five points. City head to Loftus Road to face QPR on Saturday, a game in which the Eastlands crew will be expected to run up a few goals there and at least keep their five point advantage over rivals United. Sir Alex Ferguson, who is celebrating 25 years in charge at Old Trafford, can look forward to a home game against Steve Bruce’s Sunderland. The Black Cats have been struggling for wins this season, and while Manchester United have gone into their shell since their heavy defeat against City, they are still expected to keep on picking up points and challenging in defence of their title. New Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas has hit his first sticky patch of the season, losing his last two league matches, and only  managing a draw in the Champions League against Genk during the week. Chelsea head off to face struggling Blackburn, and the Blues need to sort out a bit of sharpness both at the back and up front as well if they are going to contest the title. Liverpool will look for an easy afternoon against the newly promoted Swansea City at Anfield on Saturday. There is still talk of title belief at the club, and they can’t afford another home slip up like they produced against Norwich if that is going to happen. Arsenal will look to continue their revival as they seek another three points at the Emirates. The Gunners face the Baggies as West Brom hit London, and with the form of Robin van Persie, three points for the home side will be fully expected. Because of their long trek to Russia in the Europa League on Thursday, Spurs face fellow London side Fulham on Sunday in the Premier League. Fulham have had surprising struggles this season but will be buoyed by a good Europa League win. However, Spurs are arguably the best team in London at the moment, and will want to keep the pressure up on the top four.

Online Bookmaker Victor Chandler have a nice football betting promotion to look at for the Premier League’s Big Six on the weekend. The bookie has a Big Six Special, which is paying out at odds of 11/1 if Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham all win on the weekend. That is pretty good odds and quite a viable proposition when you look over the fixture list. The highly rated online bookmaker Victor Chandler offers a free £25 bet as a sign up bonus for new customers registering an account with them. The bookie will match the value of your first bet as a free bet, up to the limit of £25. So that is a free £25 bet which you could have in your hands to try and pick up some extra profit with your football betting this weekend! Back the Big Six and come up trumps with VC Bet!

English Premier League

Newcastle v Blackburn

Fresh from an entertaining victory over struggling Arsenal, Blackburn travel to the North East to try and halt Newcastle’s undefeated start to the season.

Alan Pardew was not a popular choice when replacing Chris Houghton last season but like all football fans, the Toon Army are fickle and it’s Chris Who these days as Pardew has led his troops to an early fourth placed position. Three draws and two wins from five matches have proven there is life after Joey Barton, Jose Enrique and Kevin Nolan who all moved on during the summer. Pardew has brought in several new players but the ethos behind his team remains the same – hard to beat. Draws away to Villa and QPR, their two most recent games, have not been pretty on the eye but they are precious away points and every team would like to be able to get them. Their two victories have also been hard fought and both by won by the odd goal so although they may be hard to beat, they can struggle to score goals as well and as of yet, have failed to replace Andy Carroll who left in January.

Blackburn were struggling early in the season, without a point in three, but they have picked up four points from their last two games and as mentioned in the opening line, secured a major coup in the defeat of Arsenal last weekend at Ewood Park in a seven goal thrilled. Obviously the main talking point after the game was about how Arsenal had capitulated in yet another game but credit must go to Rovers who have shown a willingness to attack and get at teams this season. Yakubu, making his home debut, notched two and he could prove to be a very shrewd acquisition for Steve Kean. Other new singings include Scott Dann and David Goodwillie who both come with big expectations. Rovers kept their good run going in midweek with a 3-2 win over Leyton Orient in the League cup, it was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests but it also kept the confidence up and was another chance for other players to get some game time and give the manager food for thought ahead of tomorrow’s trip to St James’ Park.

Newcastle have been strong at home since their return from the Championship in 2010. Pardew has looked to Leon Best and Shola Ameobi mainly in the search for a prolific goalscorer with Demba Ba having to do with a place on the bench alongside Peter Lovenkrands who scored twice against Nottingham Forest in midweek. With the loss of Kevin Nolan as well it meant losing a good 15 goals from midfield so the fact they have only managed to score four goals in their five matches is not a major surprise.

Blackburn have a terrible away record and it must improve for them to ensure they move away from the relegation zone. In eleven games on the road in 2011 they have won just once whilst losing six. In that run they have conceded 25 goals so it’s clear they must shore things up at the back in order to get more points away from home. With Dann alongside Chris Samba, you would expect them to be resolute and solid so time will tell if the new partnership can stop the leak.

Newcastle are not everybody’s cup of tea for a variety of reasons but this is the kind of match they have learned to win which is a good knack to have. I don’t think it will be pretty but I think the home side can just edge the contest.

My Selection: Newcastle to beat Blackburn

Best odds available: 10/11 available with Ladbrokes

English Premier League

Wigan v Tottenham
Wigan lost out to two late goals at Everton last Saturday whilst Spurs dominated a poor Liverpool side to record their second league win in a row and start their charge up the table.

Roberto Martinez must have thought that his players had done enough to leave Goodison with a point last weekend but it was not to be as the Toffees new boys struck late to keep all three points on Merseyside. It was Wigan’s second league defeat of the season but it is now three losses in a row when you take into account their loss to Crystal Palace in the league cup a fortnight ago. Their home record is decent with four points from a possible six including a 2-0 win over QPR at the end of August. After surviving the drop on the final day of last season Martinez may have hoped that with some new signings he could lead his side up the table and avoid another relegation battle but the signs are still there that they will struggle once again.

Tottenham started the season really poorly with heavy defeats to both Manchester clubs but it now looks as though they are coming together and starting to play like the have for the past two seasons under Harry Redknapp. A comfortable win away to Wolves was followed by an emphatic 4-0 defeat of big-spending Liverpool at White Hart Lane last Sunday. The visitors were reduced to 9 men by the end of the match but even before the sending off’s, Spurs were well in control and looked in the mood from the very first whistle. Tomorrow’s match is a big one as, depending on results, they can climb to as high as fourth. Of course, it is extremely early in the season to be worrying too much about league placings but it is a major boost to all concerned, especially after such a poor start.

Wigan will be without their star striker, Hugo Rodallega, who was injured in last Saturday’s defeat to Everton. It is not as bad as first feared but he will not be fit for tomorrow so it will be down to the likes of Franco Di Santo and Victor Moses who must now start proving their worth on a regular basis and get the goals that can lead their club to a higher position.

Spurs good form was hampered by a penalty shoot-out loss to Stoke in the League cup but it was a much changed side to the one who will turn out tomrrow. A key player in their resurgence has been Emmanuel Adebayor who is on a season’s long loan from Man City. The former Arsenal striker was not warmly welcomed by the Spurs faithful but it’s yet another case of fickle football fans as the big striker is now their favourite player after scoring three goals in two matches. He looks the type of player who will have a big say in most of the game’s he plays.

Spurs have an indifferent record away to Wigan really with just one win from their last four meetings at the DW Stadium. That win came two seasons ago whilst last years match ended in a draw. Wigan struggle to score goals at the best of times but with their top striker and best player not available, it makes things even harder. Spurs looked very good last week and I have every faith they can follow up again tomorrow.

My Selection: Tottenham to beat Wigan

European Football Betting

The Europa League. Well Spurs boss Harry Redknapp seems as if he can hardly be bothered with it, calling the fixture and inconvenience. Maybe that is arrogance, maybe that is a sign of the ambition that Tottenham really have. Well, they missed out on Champions League football this time around, so they have to endure the long winded rigours of the Europa League. After their great showing in Europe last year, Spurs are still one of the favourites to win the Europa League this time around, trading at 11/1 with Blue Square at the moment, behind only Paris St Germain. Spurs won’t have Rafael van der Vaart available for the Europa League matches, as there has been some confusion about him, at least from the players end. Van der Vaart was injured in the Premier League hammering they suffered at the hands of Manchester City, and with prospects not good for him, Harry Redknapp left him out of the Europa League group stage squad. The Dutchman has required much more quickly than anticipated, as could be back to face Liverpool in the league on the weekend. Nothing can be done about that now, unless Spurs progress and new names can be added to the Europa League squad. Spurs will also be without Michael Dawson in defence, as it looks like he could be missing for some time. But Harry Redknapp has pretty much been clear on his stance for the Europa League, it is getting in the way of his team challenging to get back in the Champions League. Therefore, we will probably see quite a few Tottenham youngsters having a crack at things in the group fixtures. It is sounding like it will be more of a causal affair from Tottenham really, than anything.

PAOK FC Saloniki from Greece will face Spurs for the first time ever this week. They did play Arsenal way back in the nineties in the UEFA Cup, knocking the Gunners out over two legs. The Greeks look to be a pretty handy side to be honest, and haven’t lost in their last five European matches (they have played four qualifiers so far this year). They didn’t give very much away on their home turf last season in the tournament, and so far, at home in the Europa League qualifiers at home this season, they have scored five and conceded none. Granted, Spurs will be the toughest opponents they will have faced, but still a decent record. But Spurs come into the match on the back of winning just one of their last five European matches, that 5-0 away thumping of Hearts in the qualifiers. The London side have only lost one of their last four away matches in Europe though (that 4-0 defeat at Real Madrid in last season’s Champions League). Hard to gauge how tough Tottenham will make this match on themselves. The arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor will help them out up front immensely, and if they apply themselves properly they can go far in the tournament. But the Greeks could put up a stiff wall of opposition and could be a bit more interested in taking the initiative here.

PAOK Saloniki v Tottenham Europa League Betting Odds
PAOK Saloniki to win: 9/4 at Totesport
Draw: 23/10 at SkyBet
Spurs to win: 6/4 at VC Bet

The strong British presence in the Europa League has caused a clash in the play off stage as the teams vie for a place in the Group Stage. Tottenham Hotspur will square off against Scottish Premier League side Hearts for a place in the competition proper. After tasting the highs of Champions League football last season and impressing many, Tottenham have come back down to earth with a bump and now have to negotiate their way through qualifying for UEFA’s second tier tournament. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is a little concerned that endeavours in the prolonged tournament is going to take away a lot from their challenge in the Premier League. So it will be interesting to see how Tottenham do this year. They surely won’t pass up the chance of silverware, as they will be one of the front runners to take the Europa League title this year.

Last season’s defeat FA Cup finalists Stoke City, making their foray into the Europa League, scored a great victory over Croatian Hajduk Split to move into the final play off round. Tony Pulis now takes his men on to face FC Thun from Switzerland for a place in the main stage of the competition. Also joining Stoke in the final play off round, is Fulham who safety negotiated their way past RNK Split this week. The Craven Cottage crew, now under the guidance of Martin Jol, will face a long trip to the Ukraine as they take on Dnipro. Birmingham City, who were relegated but made their way to the Europa League after winning the Carling Cup will take on Nacional from Portugal. There were worries that Birmingham’s dire financial situation would prevent them from playing in the Europa League, but they were granted licence to do so by UEFA. Glasgow Rangers will also be putting in an appearance in the Europa League Play Off draw, as they face Maribor from Slovenia, while Scottish Premier League rivals Celtic have a trip to Switzerland to battle it out with Sion. Ireland will be represented by Shamrock Rovers as they face Partizan.

So there are huge British football betting opportunities for you in the Europa League at the moment. Sadly we will have to lose at least one British side with the interesting Tottenham v Hearts clash on the cards. The Europa League is a long test of endurance over the season, but many are fancying Tottenham to do the business and they are the favourites out of the British entrants to lift the trophy this year. But the stiffest opposition in the way will come from the Spaniards Sevilla and Atletico Madrid. We will present the latest outright Europa League betting odds below, but remember that third placed teams from the Champions League group stage join the competition at a later stage as well.

Europa League Winner Odds
Sevilla: 12/1 at SkyBet
Atletico Madrid: 14/1 at Boylesports
Paris St Germain: 14/1 at Totesport

Whoever leaves Anfield tomorrow with all three points will be massive favourites to finish fifth and qualify for the Europa League so it’s all to play for between Liverpool and Tottenham.

When Roy Hodgson was sacked at the beginning of the year, the red half of Merseyside were gearing themselves up for a relegation battle, a few months on an they are sitting in fifth postion. The job Kenny Dalgleish has done since taking temporary charge of the team cannot be underestimated. He had instilled passion, pride, desire and not least, ability amongst his players. He has had to contend with the sale of Fernando Torres in January and used the £50m for to purchase Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. Both have contributed to the charge up the table whilst those already at the club look like completely different specimens. It’s amazing what confidence does for a team, especially considering the amount of criticism they were owed from their performance in the first half of the season. Losing game after game, feeble efforts from top players and morale at an all time low. The transformation in such a short space of time has been remarkable and even more so considering their captain, and often saviour, Steven Gerrard has been missing for much of this period. The team have certainly not missed their talisman, if anything, others have stepped up to the plate and performed with credit.

They head into tomorrow’s match knowing that King Kenny will be in place for another three years. It wil not only provide stability but confidence that they can mount a serious title challenge next season for the first time since they led the league in 2008.

Tottenham can be proud of their season despite falling just short of achieving another Champions League spot. They were successful in Europe as well, progressing to the Quarter Finals only to be knocked out by Real Madrid. Harry Redknapp will no doubt be disappointed that they have nothing to show for their efforts but he will be aware that his squad is not far short of really challenging for the top honours in both domestic, and European competition. They have failed to achieve consistency, especially in the latter part of the season and their chances of a second successive fourth placed finish all be evaporated after being held to a 1-1 draw with Blackpool last weekend. That was confirmed in midweek after losing 1-0 to Man City who filled the position this time around. Redknapp will do well to keep hold of key players, especially Gareth Bale and Luca Modric. After such impressive seasons, particularly in Europe, bigger clubs may well be hovering so that could be one of the manager’s biggest challenges over the summer months.

Spurs last won at Anfield in 1993, a terrible record for such an illustrious club. They have to win in order to finish above tomorrow’s oppnents whilst Liverpool know that if they are victorious then they will finish fifth and cap a tremendous finish to the season. The home side definitely have form on their side as they have won five of their last seven and have not been defeated at home this calendar year.

Tottenham have it all to do tomorrow as they have not won in six and have to play against a side who are scoring for fun. I strongly fancy Liverpool to gain all three points.
