US Open Tennis Betting CashBack offers at BetFred

September 5th, 2010 / Lee A Jackson

The US Open promises a fantastic day of tennis on Sunday, with Andy Murray going up against Stanislas Wawrinka in the third round of the men’s tournament. Also in action is Rafael Nadal as both continue on their quest towards the semi final where they would clash into each other. Their matches will be the highlights of the men’s draw on Sunday, and both Murray and Nadal will be favourites to progress in the tennis betting. But Sunday at Flushing Meadows also presents a wonderful day of action in the women’s draw. With number three seed Jelena Jankovic crashing out to Kaia Kanepi in very disappointing fashion, there was great expectations as the born again Maria Sharapova and tournament favourite Caroline Wozniacki both obliterated their respective opponents to set up an awe inspiring quarter final clash. Before that happens, there are some mouth watering matches to look forward too.

Check out online bookmaker BetFred for your US Open Tennis betting. For the men’s draw, BetFred offer cashback on all losing match outright markets, if your selection loses after being up two sets to love in the match. This adds just a nice little bit of coverage up to the value of £200, should the player you have gotten behind suddenly capitulates. For the women’s draw, BetFred offer a Tie Break Cashback on any singles match. This means that if the woman you are betting on loses the match in a tie break in the final set, then BetFred will refund your losing stake up to the value of £200. With BetFred (aka The Bonus King) also offer up to £50 free bets for new customers. This free bet comes when you make a first bet on a new account, as BetFred will match your first stake.

Ana Ivanovic v Kim Clijsters (2)

Belgian superstar Kim Clijsters is looking great as she attempts to win the US Open for the third time in her career. She won it last year and is the defending Champion in New York, winning the tournament after coming out of retirement. She is a true powerhouse of the game and oozes class when she steps onto the court. She really will take some stopping and this fourth round match up should be something of a fascinating encounter. Clijsters will start as favourite for this match, but Ivanovic really could cause problems here. Along with Sharapova, Ivanovic is one of the more interesting sleeper bets to take notice of. She really has discovered a lot of her previous form that one took her to world number one. She has rediscovered some of her best form over the second half of the WTA season and is rightly in with a chance. While Clijsters always delivers great footwork and some powerfully accurate shots, Ivanovic is something of a fighter. She is not going to out power Clijsters, but if she digs deep enough and chases down every point, then she has the craft to take out Clijsters. It’s unlikely but she is just the type of player that could dent the impressive run Clijsters is on at the US Open.

Sam Stosur (8) v Elena Dementieva (12)

This personally is the one match that has been most anticipated since the draw  was first made. Russian Elena Dementieva is one of the most consistent players on the WTA tour and has been over the last decade. Unfortunately this year, injury has blighted her chances at both the French Open and at Wimbledon, and injuries have led to her dropping outside of the top ten. She is a much better player than that though, and would make for a popular winner. Dementieva has everything in her repertoire to win a Grand Slam, and she has been to the final of the US Open before. She is graceful on the court, more so than any other player and she reaches things that sometimes is unexpected. However, she just hasn’t been able to put it together to land a Grand Slam, but there is a strong taste of her doing so this year. She must be extremely hungry after missing out on the previous two Grand Slams this season, and while she hasn’t looked on top of her game yet, she can pull out the stops when it matters. Australian opponent Sam Stosur was looking in great form over the first quarter of the season, and looked to be growing and growing in confidence. There hasn’t been much buzz about her at the US Open but that will probably suit her. She has failed when expectation has been there before this year, so maybe flying under the radar will help her. She certainly is a danger and on top of her game could spring a massive surprise in the whole tournament. Will tip Dementieva as she should have the edge and experience.

Stosur: 13/10 at Boylesports

Francesca Schiavone (6) v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (20)

Schiavone was the surprise winner of the French Open this year. Can she do it again? Tennis betting on her certainly doesn’t think so, and that is a fair assessment. Yes, she did it once, and that Grand Slam triumph will likely remain her career highlight. Sounds harsh, but she just is not enough of a class act to go on and dominate the world of tennis. It is just not going to happen. In this fourth round match, she will run into the tough challenge of Pavlyuchenkova who is the youngest player ranked in the top twenty five of the WTA rankings. She is a promising talent and is powerful and quick, and has led to her winning her first two WTA titles this year. She has been a little unlucky with the draws which has received in the Grand Slams this year, having to face Serena Williams in the French Open third round, and then Caroline Wozniacki early at Wimbledon. If you are looking for a form player, then your tennis betting will back Pavlyuchenkova. After winning in Istanbul at the end of July, she then put on a star show at Cincinnati last month, beating Hantuchova, Dementieva and Wickmayer on her way to the semi finals. Has a lot of potential and there’s a big chance for her to shine at Flushing Meadows. Would get behind the Russian.
Pavlyuchenkova to win: 8/11 at Victor Chandler
Schiavone to win: Evens at William Hill

Shahar Peer (16) v Venus Williams (3)

You don’t hear too much about Peer but she is enjoying a pretty decent season. She’s not in her strongest form at the moment, and unfortunately for her, her US Open progress has led her to a tough clash against Venus Williams. Williams, who has penciled in a new dress for every round of the US Open this season, should be too powerful for the Israeli. Williams has already gotten the better of Peer three times this season already.
Williams to win: 1/5 at Totesport
Peer to win: 19/4 at SportingBet
