Premiership – What A Season!
November 7th, 2008 / russell
What a season it’s been and it is only early November!
The whipping boys have been handing out the whippings. Spurs looked like a very poor team until Harry appeared and turned them into overnight successes.
Newcastle by contrast are having their usually dull and uneventful year.
Chelsea have finally lost at Home and then are humbled in the Champions League by Roma
Manchester United have the usual slow(ish) start and very nearly get humbled themselves by Celtic.
Liverpool appear to be the form team that is until Tottenham Hotspur knock them out of their stride
Arsenal, well what can I say about the Gunners, I mentioned a few weeks ago that the sign of a great team was how they responded to a poor result and Arsenal hadn’t shown these qualities. And then they draw the North London derby having led 4-2 with moments to play, follow that with the loss to a brave and battling Stoke who I for one wont bet against now! and a goalless draw midweek in the Champions League.
West Ham looked buoyant, until the sack their manager, their sponsor goes bust and their chairman doesn’t seem too far behind them.
Manchester City are taken over by the Sheiks and sales in tea towels go through the roof. Robinho and co look exciting going forward but the purchase of a defence in the January window cant come soon enough.
I could go on but I think you’re getting my point!
So we look at the weekend’s fixtures and try to find a value bet…….. Errrrr any offers?
I’m personally drawn to West Ham v Everton at The Boleyn Ground tomorrow. Neither team has really got any form this season, both team have injuries and suspensions to several key players and will enter this game with the ‘no lose’ mentality that makes me eye up the draw which is best priced at 12/5 with Totesport. However, I won’t be spending the winnings just yet!
