I tend to use Betfred as my
weekly bookie, I have three shops all within walking distance! My weekly amount will be approx £10 and I bet on
Football accumulators. The best thing about the bookie is that is has a variety of special bets on offer and lots
of different slips with the latest odds.
I had a few big wins on my first few visits so it's become a lucky place for me to visit. I have visited
Ladbrokes and Stan James in recent weeks but I felt some of their offers were confusing (i'm sure i won at
Ladbrokes the other day but it seems like I actually lost). I can see the appeal of Ladbrokes (late opening and
always busy) but i prefer Betfred
because the staff are very helpful.
All in all I enjoy the odd weekly bet and it has become a tradition for me. As an Arsenal supporter it is
tempting to place big unit singles on them winning, but i've found that the best way to beat the bookies is
to go trebles, with a couple of (hopefully) easy home wins then a draw or away win in a tight game. This way
you can win a relatively large sum on a low risk scale. I find it very frustrating when you play a 8 or 9 game
accumulator and one result doesn't come in!
In comparison with other betting establishments i feel Betfred
doesnt always offer the best odds. Personally, with the relatively small weekly amount I place on bets i tend
to just stick to the shops i know, rather than say walk a mile for slightly better odds. As i've mentioned
before the staff have always been very helpful (i still class myself as a novice so i've had quite a few problems!)
and I feel that's important to make me feel welcome.
The special slips they have with the 6 nations or Superbowl are easy to use and make it clear what you have
placed your bet on. Perhaps their only downfall is that they don't put on your slip how much you will win
(like Ladbrokes do) but i feel this all adds to the surprise!
