Things are so tight at the top of Pool 3 of the Heineken Cup that any number of scenarios could see either the Ospreys , Leicester or possibly both progress to the knockout stages. We’re not totally up to speed on the bonus point permutations, but if the Tigers lose and pick up a losing bonus point, a bonus point for scoring 4 tries or a bonus point for being the first team to get the round in in the pub after, they could still qualify. With so much at stake, a cagey affair is expected with Ospreys’ coach Sean Holley saying "there’ll be a bit of cat and mouse going on" – if by cat and mouse he means a 7ft, 25 stone Tom and a Jerry who likes to light his own farts. Whoever wins this match will be feline like they can go all the way. 5.35pm SS1 – Rugby Coupon

As the many nerds in our techie team will testify, Christmas is a great time of year for new computer games that they can play when not poking each other on Facebook. That said; we’ve to admit that the recently-released Football Manager 2010 is taking up too much of our time. Mancunian comedian and Man City supporter Jason Manford is also a big fan of the manager simulation game. And, as always, his missus hates it. “She’s always going on like ‘what are you doing? It’s just clicking’,” he said, before adding, “I knew it had gone too far when I was giving press conferences in the bathroom and shagging Nancy Dell’Olio under stairs.” There’s a thin line between reality and fiction, but can Football Manager be the Christmas No.1 Video Game @ 33/1? We’re not sure if Mother Nature has her very own Facebook page [if she has, she hasn't bothered to add us as friends - the cow!], but if she does, she might have noticed an emerging trend. Thousands of people have signed up to groups who use capital letters to show how passionate/mentally unstable they are, such as “WE WANT SNOW THIS CHRISTMAS!” and these people are united by one common thing – they all have far too much free time on their hands. Sabina Smits of Austria is probably going to get her wish and we don’t want to be pessimistic, but Waleed AL-duaij of Saudi Arabia, you should probably brace yourself for disappointment on Christmas morning. If you guess right about Snow This Christmas , you could update your financial status. White Christmas Betting

With the notable exception of that year when Zara Phillips clearly got all her butlers and ladies-in-waiting to text in, the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award tends to go to someone who has achieved some brilliant and obviously high profile. Being the best at getting into a car and pushing a button hasn’t always won favour with the public, so there is talk of Ryan Giggs earning the award in recognition of his many remarkable years of complaining about every decision that doesn’t go Man Utd’s way. “It is the middle of the campaign and not at the end and I feel good at the moment,” he said, suggesting he might continue playing and also showing his solid knowledge of what time of the year it is. Should Giggs be waiting in the wings to accept the award? Sun. 7pm BBC1

Tiger Woods’ transgressions continue to mar the world of golf and, while his latest bit on the side can be seen on Bravo most weekends dry humping some bloke in Emmanuelle 2000, its overshadowing important things like the beginning of the 2010 European Tour which kicks off in South Africa …err…in 2009. Irish Open Champion Shane Lowry is in Leopards Creek for the Alfred Dunhill Championship to earn some early ranking points. While the Offalyman falls into the Angel Cabrera mould of golfer, he’s been working hard in the gym with former rugby international Eric Miller to improve his fitness. Prior to the Guinness and mince pies season and following his Dunlop Phoenix third place finish, it’d be an awful Shane if you didn’t back Lowry to win in South Africa! Thurs 6.30am SS

If Steven Gerrard hadn’t been playing through the pain at Ewood Park, there’s the very real possibility that Liverpool would have ground to a complete halt. So when Rafa Benitez says things like; “we’re playing better. The team is doing well and we will have chances if we continue playing at this level.” You have to wonder if he really believes his side are playing well, if he’s just spouting the usual empty post-match rhetoric or if he’s been at the sangria. Despite what Gianfranco Zola said recently, the Reds’ title chances are surely done and having already been knocked out of the Champions League, not even an impressive win at home against Fiorentina this week will lift the gloom at Anfield. Will £20m man Aquilani come in to help Liverpool through this Raf’ period? Wed 7.45pm

As Ireland braces itself for the most severe Budget since… err… the last one, traffic jams in Newry and a bad case of Blue Flu are quickly expected to follow. Finance minister Brian Lenihan is the man who has to save 4 billion and he’s thanked the Public Service for being so obedient – pointless strike included. “In France you would have seen riots if you tried to do this,â he said of the last pension levy, not citing laziness to do so as a possible reason. Aside from taxing everyone for farting or sitting on the bog, it’s pretty much expected that drinking, smoking and having a family are going to be hit. With that information, it’s probably best to bet on the Len-gth of Brian’s speech when he reveals the Budget 2010 ! Budget Specials Betting

A point is still needed to guarantee top spot but Alex Ferguson may be happier to return from Germany with no new injuries and a loss than a win which takes out more of his players. We would joke that the United boss may have to lace up his own boots if he loses many more players but he was a rubbish footballer when he was young. Luckily for him West Ham proved to be as resilient as a French army battalion and his makeshift defence, which saw Michael Carrick partner Patrice Evra at centre-half to see out the game relatively untroubled. Things may not be so comfortable against Wolfsburg, who need to win to ensure they qualify, but Ferguson is at least hoping to have Vidic back. Can United’s defence keep Wolfs’ from the door or will we see a comedy of errors at the back? Tues 7.45pm SS2

With 1,300 offensive yards already this season, rookie running-back Ray Rice has already established himself as a vital cog in the Baltimore team. Not bad for a slow work-horse with suspect handling ability. Rice’s impact hasn’t just been on the pitch, with team-mate Ray Lewis sounding like he was on the verge of proposing to Rice in an interview ahead of their visit to Green Bay. “It’s just a true brotherhood. You latch on to certain people. Teams are about chemistry, and every team-mate grabs somebody one way or another. They form a bond. I formed a bond with him from Day One… I just love his spirit, I love his will, I love his heart, I love the way he approaches the game. I love the way he approaches life.” Will he still be Raven about Rice after Green Bay? Tues 1.35am
