If the Premier League was a Formula 1 race, Liverpool would be desperately trying to ram Manchester United off the track as the Old Trafford side lapped them for the second or third time. As it is, there’s little they can do to prevent their fiercest rivals from winning that record 19th title. Alex Ferguson vowed to knock Liverpool of their perch when he took over and he’s feeling good about doing it this season. “It would be the 19th title – the most in the league. It doesn’t matter who you beat for that record – and we’ve got a chance,” he said this week.
