Every football fan is trying to figure out which team will win the Euro tournament and will bet a smaller or bigger amount on it.

Make use of free bets, have a look on our free betting tips, recommended bookmakers, football betting strategies, euro livescores, and more.

Apart from the extensive betting content we also try to provide a lot of non-necessarily-betting related content on the Euro itself - all the teams, all the stars, all the venues, cities, fixtures and much much more.

But now it's 2010 and that means we've got a World Cup again - World Cup 2010 in South Africa and we try to provide useful information again on World Cup 2010 Betting, which also does another World Cup Betting Portal.

Euro 2008 Betting

The UEFA European Football Championships 2008 will take place in Switzerland and Austria from 7th of June until 29th of June 2008. A total of 16 teams will try to qualify for the final match in Vienna.

The first round or "group stage" is played in 4 groups. The winner and the runner-up of each group will qualify for the quarterfinals. From there on only knockout games will be played and only the winner of a game will qualify for the next round ("knockout stage").

This important tournament also referred to as "Euro 2008" is of high interest throughout the whole world (not only Europe). This results in a wide variety of betting offers from various bookmakers.

You may bet on a single match result as well as on group rankings or participants for quarter- and semifinals or the final match in Vienna on the 29th of June. The most bookmakers are even offering special bets like total number of goals, first goal in a game, final ranking of a team after the tournament, top goalscorer, handicap bets and so on.

You may even place a live-bet "online" during a game (e.g. number of goals in the next 20 minutes, result after 45 minutes, next team to shoot a goal, etc.). The betting offers are almost endless, so everyone can choose his/her bet of special interest and risk.

Many bookmakers (especially the big online bookmakers) are also offering free bets or a betting bonus for placing bets with them. A good tip is to check the odds for a bet you want to place. Sometimes the odds vary remarkably.

The title favourites of the bookmakers seem to be Germany, Italy, France and Spain at current state.

The favourite players aiming at the "Top Goalscorer Euro 2008" title are Miroslav Klose of Germany, Fernando Torres of Spain and Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal.

Some more tips on placing bets:
  • It is a good idea to take a look at the official website of the Euro 2008 and some previous results and rankings of European Championships BEFORE you decide who to bet on
  • The best way of betting is to set yourself a maximum amount that you can afford to lose (in case your bets are not running as well as you expected them to). This keeps you from losing too much money
  • Every now and then try to enjoy the championships without placing a bet, just sit back for a while and think over your strategy. Sometimes a little distance enables you to learn from your losses and understand all the various risk involved
