McLaren's set to drive home early season advantage

Chinese Grand Prix betting odds are being dominated by the two British McLaren drivers as we head toward the third race of the new season. Lewis Hamilton tops the list after nailing Pole Position in the opening two races. He will be worth another shot in the Market for Chinese Grand Prix Betting where he is 5/4 at Bet365 to start from the front of the grid again. However, Hamilton has been running well with good speed, but he has yet to convert either Pole into a win. But if he gets out in front again this weekend, you would expect him to come home first sooner rather than later, such is the huge advantage from the front. Hamilton landed a third place finish in Malaysia last time out, a disappointing finish.

But his team mate Jenson Button is trading well in Chinese Grand Prix betting odds, and he has a win under his belt this season. Button raced out of the blocks to take the opening race of the season in Melbourne, Australia, putting in the fastest lap there as well. Button qualified second in Malaysia but only finished down in fourteenth. Still, the McLaren’s are showing very good pace and even outshining the Red Bull team at the moment. So while they are running well, both of the Brits have history at the Chinese Grand Prix as well. Lewis Hamilton is the only man to have won the race on more than one occasion, including last year, and Jenson Button won it the previous year in 2010. So three out of the last four Chinese Grands Prix have been won by McLaren. So great betting trend to go with there, the only interruption was a win by Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel in 2009.

Red Bull have struggled to perform in the first two races, which has been a bit of a surprise, but even the team say that they aren’t happy with the speed, as rule changes this season seems to have affected them more than anyone else. Still, you can’t count out Vettel completely, because you would expect him to come good, but it looks, on the evidence of the first couple of races, than the McLaren’s finally hold a bit of an advantage over their rivals. Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who won in Malaysia in the last race, still looks a way short of genuine pace even though things went his way last time. So it was a really mixed result out in Malaysia, but the form and speed really is with McLaren, so would ride that momentum in Chinese Grand Prix betting.
