Tight tussle for top four places

2012 Premier League darts betting has taken on a little bit of an uneven look after last week, when Gary Anderson had to withdraw from the week’s action because of a family bereavement. It meant that Adrian Lewis had to play a double header last week, so he is a game ahead of everyone else now. It will balance back out when Lewis gets to sit out next week, and Anderson catches up with a double header. But one thing is at least certain, and that is Phil Taylor looks unstoppable on his quest to claim the Premier League title again. It is off to the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham for our Premier League Darts betting this week.

Standings: Taylor 15pts, Wade 8pts, Barneveld 8pts, Whitlock 8pts, Lewis 7pts, Anderson 6pts, Painter 6pts, Hamilton 6pts

Kevin Painter v Raymond van Barneveld
Kevin Painter didn’t get much of a look in last week in an 8-2 defeat against Phil Taylor, and after a solid start to the season, the Artist has now lost three in a row, and he is not faced with an easy match this week to try and break that run. He goes up against Raymond van Barneveld who completely underperformed last week, also suffering an 8-2 defeat, with the Dutchman going down against Adrian Lewis Barney has been pretty strong this season though in the Premier League and should be able to get himself back on track. Looks in good shape for a top four finish because there enough winnable games left for him. Barneveld won the meeting with Painter earlier in the season 8-5. Would back him to do it again.
Barneveld 8/11, Painter 2/1, Draw 9/2 at Bet Victor

Adrian Lewis v James Wade
Adrian Lewis will have been grateful for getting a second bite at a cherry last week, because he had a double header. He disappointingly went down 4-8 against Andy Hamilton in the first match of the night, but then really had his eye in as he took down Raymond van Barneveld in the final match of the night. So still a very mixed season from Adrian Lewis and he one point outside of the top four, but now he has played a game more. So he needs to plug away and battle for wins because he is facing an uphill struggle. He faces an in form James Wade, who bounced back from a defeat against Phil Taylor the previous week, to thrash Simon Whitlock 8-0. Wade has really come into his own lately after another sluggish start tot he season He is one of three players on eight points now, and is in a good position to push forward with a win here. Wade beat Lewis 8-5 earlier in the season and will be favourite to take this.

Andy Hamilton v Phil Taylor
Hamilton has actually been showing a bit of fight in the past couple of weeks in an effort to get off the bottom of the table. He followed up a draw against Simon Whitlock with a win over World Champion Adrian Lewis last week, just about keeping himself in contention with eight points. However, he goes up against Phil Taylor this week and that should be a stop to any kind of moment. Premier League Darts betting is really all about Phil Taylor at the moment, as once again he looks incredibly powerful and consistent. He fired off his seventh straight win last week as he took down Kevin Painter in another wonderful display of high scoring. Taylor beat Hamilton 8-3 a few weeks ago and it is hard to see anything other than a similar result happening again.
Taylor 1/7, Draw 15/2, Hamilton 9/1 at Bet365

Simon Whitlock v Gary Anderson
This is going to be a huge match for Gary Anderson after missing out on a match last week. He is two points behind Simon Whitlock, who is sitting in fourth place at the moment, and so Anderson can’t afford to fall further behind. However, with a win, defending Premier League champion Anderson could pull level with a game in hand. So a big night on his return, but he hasn’t been totally on top of his game. But then Simon Whitlock crashed and burned heavily last week, getting whitewashed by Wade. The Aussie has actually been outscoring Anderson this season and has been plodding along solidly enough without any flair, and still be susceptible to inconsistent appearances. Would just take Whitlock to bounce back though.
Anderson 5/4, Whitlock 5/4, Draw 4/1 at Bet365
