It is on to week four of the 2013 Premier League Darts betting as the roadshow hits the Westpoint Arena in Exeter. Three players take unbeaten records into this week’s challenge, Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Robert Thornton will all be looking to build on solid starts. Taylor is topping the league table, while there are big struggles at the bottom for Wes Newton and Adrian Lewis.

Robert Thornton v Gary Anderson
Debutant Thornton has been unable to really capitalise on his opening win on week one when he beat Andy Hamilton. However, he does remain unbeaten after drawing his following two matches (against Van Gerwen and Wes Newton). So it has been a fairly solid start to the Premier League season, but the fixture list is going to get tougher for him. Fortunately, fellow Scot Gary Anderson has been struggling to find his winning touch as well, with just one win and two defeats so far. The darts are with Thornton and he may just edge this, although at the end of the day, a draw may not be out of the picture given Thornton’s trend.
Thornton 6/4, Draw 7/2, Anderson 13/10

Andy Hamilton v Michael van Gerwen
England’s Hamilton has rattled off back to back wins from weeks two and three of 2013 Premier League Darts betting. He gunned down Gary Anderson last week and is looking confident enough, however, you do perhaps worry about this lower scoring averages, which could be his downfall here. Debutant Michael van Gerwen really ramped up his game last week. After taking draws against Phil Taylor and then Robert Thornton, he crushed Raymond van Barneveld last week 7-3 with a massive 104 three dart average. Have to go with the powerful, heavy scoring Dutchman on this one.
Hamilton 4/1, Draw 9/2, Van Gerwen 8/15

James Wade v Phil Taylor
This should be one to look forward too, James Wade has won two and lost one of his first three for the season and is looking a far more competitive player again. His fired off a comfortable win over Adrian Lewis last week in Bournemouth and hit just over a 100 three dart average. Pretty solid all round performance from him, but once again Phil Taylor was in a menacing mood last week. After opening the season with a draw against Michael van Gerwen, The Power crushed Adrian Lewis and then did the same to Simon Whitlock last week. Taylor piled on a 107 three dart average last week, the highest of the season. Never has too much trouble against Wade and would look for another Taylor win.
Wade 5/1, Draw 5/1, Taylor 2/5

Wes Newton v Adrian Lewis
Neither of these have been in top form this season at all and this is a clash between the bottom two after three matches played. Neither have picked up a win and remember the bottom two drop out of the tournament after nine matches. So big points at stake here. Strangely neither have posted a very good three dart average, which is particularly concerning for Lewis who just hasn’t been in the game. He doesn’t look interested although he will be favourite here, so it is a good chance to get on West Newton, as he at least did pick up a draw last week. Will likely take it more seriously than Lewis.
Newton 9/5, Draw 18/5, Lewis 11/10

Raymond van Barneveld v Simon Whitlock
One of the big clashes of the Premier League darts betting week. Dutchman van Barneveld had been looking strong, winning his first two matches, before he got taken apart by Michael van Gerwen last week. Still, Barney is scoring well enough to make a good impression in this game with the darts. This should be a close match even though Australia’s Simon Whitlock hasn’t delivered too much consistency. After opening with win, he has suffered back to back defeats, last week taking a big 7-2 hit against Phil Taylor. Would just edge Barneveld.
Van Barneveld 11/10, Draw 7/2, Whitlock 2/1
