2014 Premier League Darts Betting Odds and Preview – Week 10

Second phase of season begins in Sheffield

Sports Betting

Premier League Darts betting moves into the second phase of the season. Wes Newton and Simon Whitlock were relegated last week after finishing in the bottom two spots, leaving the remaining eight to scrap it out for the top four spots and a place at finals night. It is on to the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield this week, with Raymond van Barneveld and Peter Wright taking double shifts.

League leader Michael van Gerwen, who lost just one of his first nine matches, looks as if he will remain comfortable at the top of the pile as he takes on Robert Thornton, who was eighth at the halfway stage and only survived because of a better leg difference over Wes Newton. Mighty Mike is strong 1/2 favourite to take the win over Thornton at 6/1. Gerwen took a 7-5 win over the Scotsman when they met earlier in the season.

The big clash of the night is Phil Taylor v Adrian Lewis. The Power was crushed 7-3 by Lewis earlier in the season, and so is out for revenge. Taylor looks to have put a shaky start behind him and now is four matches unbeaten, winning three of those. He goes as Even money favourite to take down Lewis, who is actually unbeaten in five now, but has drawn four of those, including the last three on the bounce.

Peter Wright will be hoping to keep up his assault on a place at finals night, as he heads into action this week in second place. Like Van Gerwen he has lost just the one game and he goes back into action against Gary Anderson who he beat 7-5 last week in Cardiff. Wright is trading at 5/4, with Anderson at 8/5 to win the match, and Wright is on double duty as he takes on Raymond Barneveld in the final match of the night. Barneveld has drawn his last five matches on the bounce and is Even money to beat Dave Chisnall in his first match of the night and at 6/4 to take the win over Wright to close the evening out.
