Andy Murray v Martin Klizan French Open Tennis Betting Odds and Preview

Murray to make progress in second round

Tennis Betting

Andy Murray came through his opening test at Roland Garros with a 3-1 set victory over Russia’s Andrey Kuznetsov. Now he goes on to take on Slovakia’s Martin Klizan, who is the world number 50 in round two. Murray hasn’t been carrying form this season and this is the most vulnerable that he has looked going into a Grand Slam for quite some time. Murray is 1/12 to win this second round match.

He produced a bit of a sluggish start and lost the second set against Kuznetsov in the first round, with the Russian breaking Murray’s serve four times in the match. But Murray started to gain momentum after pulling out a tremendous response to a lob which pretty much changed the momentum of the match. He did go on to produce some confident drop shots in the match as well as getting some clinical backhand shots away as well.

He still doesn’t look at his world number one best, but this is just a matter of one step at a time for Murray and it did get better for him the more the match wore on. Murray has met Klizan just the once before which was in Vienna last year and Murray took the win 2-1 indoors. Until Murray really starts finding his feet it is again worth a punt on an Andy Murray 3-1 set victory at Paddy Power for a price of 11/4.
