Arsenal v Ludogorets Razgrad Betting Preview – UEFA Champions League 19th October

With PSG hot on the tails of the Gunners in the UEFA Champions League Group A, Arsene Wenger’s men, who are playing so well at the moment, will be looking to bank three points. This is the easiest game that they will get in the group so have to make it count and they can’t afford to take their eye off the ball. At the end of the day, with Arsenal flying along in some hot form at the moment, they should be a banker to take maximum points away from this home fixture. Ludogorets have conceded an average of two goals per game from their two fixtures this season in the group, having taken just the one point from their efforts.

Arsenal v Ludogorets Razgrad Betting Tips

This looks like an easy, routine game for the experienced Arsenal in the Champions League group stage. Arsenal have been in terrific form as of late and should win this game, which is their first ever at home against a Bulgarian side. The Gunners have gone unbeaten in their two games so far in the group stage (W1 D1) and they opened with a lucky draw on the road at PSG, before easily beating FC Basel back on home soil in London. The Gunners are flying at the moment with six wins on the bounce in all competitions and overall have put up a terrific record of W8 D1 in their last nine played. You can’t fault that and on top of that, they have banked four clean sheets in their last five played. Arsenal to win to nil in this one will fetch you a price of 4/6 with Sky Bet. Arsenal went W2 L1 in their three games at home in last season’s group stage, both wins coming to nil.

Even though Arsenal get back the service of Olivier Giroud after he was sent off late on in their group stage opener against PSG, the Frenchman may struggle to get a start. Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott have been in great form for the Gunners, Sanchez having scored five goals in his last eight games for the Gunners, while Walcott netted both goals in their home win over FC Basel. The England man was also on the scoresheet twice in the Premier League on the weekend when Arsenal won at Swansea. Walcott is an even money anytime goalscorer option, with Sanchez and Giroud both at 8/11 in this one. The Gunners should get plenty of chances. Arsenal have a W8 D1 L7 record in their last 16 home games in the Champions League proper and are likely to chalk one up in the win column here.

A rare trip to England for the Bulgarian Champions Ludogorets, for just their second visit to the country. Their previous trips saw them go to Anfield to face Liverpool in the 2013/14 Champions League group stage, where they lost 2-1 on Merseyside. They did hold for a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture against the Reds. That was on their only previous entrance into the group stage of the UEFA Champions, so they aren’t highly experienced at this. They earned a 1-1 draw against Basel in their first match of the group and then suffered a defeat against PSG. Ludogorets did manage to open the scoring in both of those matches though. They had to come through qualifying to get to this stage and they fired off 15 goals in their qualifiers to land here.

Remarkably, eight of their last nine games in all competitions have featured four or more goals. So this could be a pretty entertaining goal fest on Wednesday night. Ludogorets have failed to collect a clean sheet in any of their last nine in all competitions, but seven of those nine saw them concede just exactly one goal in each. In the anytime goalscorer market for them you have a quote of around 4/1 on Jonathan Cafu, Wanderon and Claudiu Keseru, their main threats. Cafu is in great form at the moment with five goals in his last six games. Ludogorets are currently undefeated in their last seven away from home in all competitions, not a bad return considering they are without a clean sheet in ten (13 goals conceded). The Bulgarians have only lost one of their last twice across all competitions, with wins in eight of them.

Arsenal v Ludogorets Razgrad Predictions

Ludogorets are actually in decent form and their matches are featuring a lot of goals at the moment. However, they aren’t anywhere near the class of Arsenal at the moment, and with the Gunners flying along in some powerful form, this should end up as something of a comfortable home win. Look for both teams to score in a game won by Arsenal, and a two goal winning margin on the Gunners could be profitable.
