Arsenal v Man City Betting Preview
A massive clash at the Emirates in prospect as City look to keep up their challenge for the league title, while the Gunners are eyeing up a top five finish and a place in Europe. City already have a massive seven point gap to try and close on leaders Man United and won’t want to drop points in this tricky away match. The Gunners though have been blowing a bit hot and cold and themselves will be desperate not to fall out of the chase for a European place with so many contenders around them.

Arsenal v Man City Recommended Bet:
The Gunners edge things as slight favourites for this home match, and did take a draw when the two sides met at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the season. Arsenal went on a four match winning streak in December in the Premier League, but following a draw against Southampton last time out at St Mary’s, and then a draw in the FA Cup against Swansea, their top form looks to have fallen away a little bit. Can they rediscover it again? It would be a massive fillip for Arsene Wenger if he picks up three points against the Champions. Their last home match in the EPL produced that massive 7-3 win over Newcastle, giving them wins in their last two home games. The Gunners have done alright at home this term, winning five, drawing two and losing two and they have a high conversion rate of 2.78 goals per game at home.

Theo Walcott, who has been seeing time as the central striker, is top scorer for the club with eight, but Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski have all be weighing in. So they have goals in them, but they look to be a side which thrives on confidence. When it’s not there, they look scrappy and lacking conviction, just as they did against Southampton. Arsenal took a 1-0 win in the corresponding fixture last season and that could be the fine margin by which they secure a win again. There really could be a big three points on offer for them, because the City midfield is not looking its sharpest at the moment, and the Gunners have good history against City. Arsenal have scored first in 9 of their 20 matches this season and have been leading at half time in just five of them. With four wins in their last six home matches in the league, losing just one in that run, should rightly give them the edge.

City are just hanging on in the Premier League title race, but while everyone has been waiting for them to explode into life, it just hasn’t happened. If they are not struggling to score, then their defence is letting them down and they haven’t found the balance that they had last season. They look a little lightweight in midfield, both in terms of grit and creativity, and they could be further hampered with the possible absence of Sergio Aguero who has a hamstring tear. Aguero is joint top scorer for City this season along with Edin Dzeko and his presence will be missed massively in a match like this, and it could mean a return to the starting lineup for Mario Balotelli, who has just one league goal this season and who surprisingly played in a City Under 21 match in the week following his training pitch bust up with boss Roberto Mancini.

Man City have lost just once on the road this season, winning five and drawing four of their ten matches. They have won three of their last four away matches, their only slip up coming in a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland. The problem for City on the road has been a lack of goals this term, where they average just 1.6 per game. So it is unlikely that this is going to be a high scoring game, it should be a pretty tense and tight affair with a one goal winning margin looking favourable. City’s strengths are in resilience and they have scored 68% of all their goals this season in the second half of matches. City have scored first in 11 of their 21 matches. However, they have a terrible history at Arsenal and haven’t won away there since October of 1975 in the old First Division. They have not won at Arsenal in the Premier League at all and have only beaten the Gunners once in the last six meetings, home and away.
