There was another hammer blow for a result for Arsenal and boss Arsene wenger on Monday night as they suffered a heavy defeat in a London derby at Crystal Palace. That was the last thing they needed and a top four finish in the Premier League looks highly unlikely for them this season. The loss at Crystal Palace has left Arsenal seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City and even though the Gunners still have a game in hand, that’s not likely going to come into play now with just eight games remaining.

That’s a huge gap for them to try and make up and there will be big work for them to do to try and get fifth place with Manchester United three points ahead of them. So after a humiliating Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich and a W2 D1 L5 record in their last eight Premier League games, it is all going wrong for the Wenger-boys and with the Frenchman yet to commit to his future with the club, then Wenger is now odds-on at Ladbrokes to not be in charge of Arsenal at the start of next season, trading at a price of 4/6.

He is a price of 11/10 to be at the club for the start of next season, and the 3-0 loss at Palace was the fourth league game in a row that they had conceded three goals. Also on top of that, they are 14 points behind rivals Spurs in the standings, opulus they still have some tough games to come against Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal during their run-in. Ladbrokes have a price of 1/12 on Arsenal to finish outside of the Champions League places this season.

So if Wenger goes, the immediate thoughts turn to who will be replacing him. Current Juventus manager Max Allegri is current 4/1 favourite at Ladbrokes, with Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe having been trimmed to 10/1, while former Arsenal legends Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp are 25/1 outsiders for the role. Perhaps worryingly on top of that is with the demise of Arsenal’s season, star player Alexis Sanchez is looking more and more likely to leave and he is as short as 4/7 to call it time with the north London club.
